You've hit the nail on the head there with your middle paragraph.. Clubs want to postpone based on who is unavailable rather than how many. I say tough luck, get them vaccinated and have good procedures.

Except that with the squad size regulation, no club in L1 is allowed to have a bigger squad than 23 (exc GK and U21s) .

and of course the rules are quite strict - 14 players including a GK, and the match is on.

I'd just leave it there and stay in if I were you BC.

You know what happens though Plym. Get rid of the shovel and you won't see the outside of your house for months. It's how sods law works.

Panutche Camara will be missing in January because he has been picked to play for Guinea Bissau in the African Cup of Nations.

Good for him...but not so good for Argyle.....been our best player recently....his country is in a strong group including Egypt, Sudan and Nigeria....so I expect them not to go beyond the group stage.

Could we not refuse to allow him to go? Reason I'm asking this is with all the Covid stuff going on around the World it would not seem that unreasonable would it. We do pay his wages after all even if it is an honour to play for one's Country.

Strong talk that Argyle's first January signing will be Alfie Lewis presently playing for St Patrick's Athletic in Ireland.

Ex West Ham he is a midfielder 22 years old.

Bristol Rovers (friendly) manager Joey Barton has said that Schumacher's interest in acquiring Mark Hughes will be difficult seeing that he is Rovers man until the summer.

Barton has taken note that Preston paid compensation to get Ryan Lowe from Argyle....and it looks as if Barton fancies some of that money if Argyle want to prise Hughes away from Rovers.

In some respects Barton, despite being a bit despicable, is right in this one. The bloke IS a Bristol Rovers player and under contract. To talk openly about bringing him to Argyle without having made any sort of approach officially is not cricket as they say. What would you expect Barton to say in those circumstances. What would we say if it was the other way around.

We could refuse, but if we did ,FIFA rules mean that he wouldn't be eligible for us until the end of the tournament + 5 days.

Not sure we have officially said that we are interested in him. I think SS said he is a mate that he occasionally talks to.

So basically we can't then. Am never sure of the rules but I am sure it depends who you are and which team you play for. Not that I'm suggesting bias of course.....

The Herald of course suggested differently but I accept there hasn't been any "official" word regarding the man. I still think Mr Barton isn't the Devil in the story though. The man gets enough finger pointing that is justified without when it isn't.

Now I'm damn sure football contracts contain non disclosure clauses and if not, they should do. So how is that an agent has told Barton now much compensation Argyle received for Ryan Lowe? Does the man know what he's saying?
