Just listened to Sportivo - Spanish radio's major sport station - and there was a great deal of discussion about Bale moving to OT this window. He has certainly fallen out of favour with the fans these last few seasons and the consensus seems to be that he wouldn't be missed, particularly as his leaving would free up the position for the fan's favourite. I do hope JM isn't planning on buying him, his injury problems go from bad to worse.
Three players mentioned so far with a bit of substance; Bale, Ozil & Dybala. Who would you have? Personally, I'd say Bale & Dybala.
Given the three I would take Dybala - Bale has ligament and muscle injury problems, those sort of injuries are always made worse by a colder climate so I would expect him to be sidelined for a good part of the season. Ozil it too enigmatic, he plays well when he wants to, not when the occasion demands. Dybala, by contrast, is a strong, young player with a proven record of scoring and assists (even if he has just suffered a hamstring injury) - he is the sort of talent we should be investing in, not RM's cast-offs.
The only issue I could see with going for Bale is that the wages, fee and effort needed to negotiate the deal could rule us out of a move for Griezmann in the summer. Appreciate that one is a long shot, but I'd much rather us end up with Griezmann or Dybala than Bale.
Hasn't bale turned us down a couple of times? Have to say we need players who, bar unforseen circumstances, can play week in week out With bale we will get the recent pogba situation. Good games then turgid when not playing
So far today we've been linked with Sanchez, Vardy and Chicarito (at a rumoured £10m more than we sold him for)
