I mean, I already adhere to a 6pm curfew but I'm boring, not woke. I suspect it's a ploy to make everyone say how stupid it is, then argue it's equally wrong/stupid to say that women shouldn't walk home alone at 3am. Which... is smarter than it first appears, but probably not quite the knock down argument that Baroness Jones thinks it is. I see the two mackems have fallen for it hook line and sinker though.
I'm sure I read that this was taken out of context and was in response to people saying perhaps women shouldn't be out alone in the evening.
Whether she was serious or not isn't the point, the simple fact is wokiness is completely out of control. Led by the Guardian and it's lefty middle class luvvies, who's favourite pastime is sneering down at the working class.
I think the point is that she was being serious, but in exactly the opposite way to how that headline/tweet makes it look
please log in to view this image she shouldn't be allowed out after dark anyway. imagine bumping into that in the dark.
It's a good idea... Keep all the arseholes that can't handle their drink away from the pubs... They should lock the woman up from. 12pm though
Judging by the increase in domestic abuse during lockdown I think there will be a lot of women against forcing men to stay home.
These people are crazy this is the jungle and nobody is safe..wrong place at the wrong time and you're history.
That sounds good but is not borne out by the statistics. There’s a good article on it here: https://www.bbc.com/news/explainers-56365412 It actually shows that a)women are much less likely to be killed by strangers than men b) murders of women in UK have remained more or less constant over the last decade c) most common murder location for women is in the home So actually this isnt the jungle and actually they are more likely to be killed being in the right place (home). We seem to have developed a habit in the UK of going over the top with knee-jerk reactions when events like this happen. Of course we should think of ways of making the streets safer for everybody but hopefully the purpose of this statement was to make people debate the issue more rather than being a serious proposal.
People are here to die and It's just the way it is... For all I know I die in a fire or get stabbed you just don't know and there's no policy that's going to change it.
