Ralph and Semmens both said he’ll be playing again in December. I’d expect that he won’t be rushed, given his history, so probably mid to late December. According to staff he’s desperate to come back ahead of estimates. Ings is already at Staplewood so he’s maybe doing some highly restricted work already and they will be monitoring his healing. Probably back in light training early December.
I get the feeling that Brighton had greater ambitions for this season than six points from eight games, and three points clear of the relegation zone. I don't mean aiming for Europe or anything. But heading in a positive direction up the table. Which so far hasn't happened. If that continues for the next four or five weeks - and particularly if any of the four sides below them start to win a few - then I wouldn't be too surprised if they become tempted by Howe's availability. Anyway, as for Monday, I'm going with 1-1. Presumably Bertrand will be our only change.
Think wolves will be a real test, but then also thought that of Everton and Newcastle.. definitely progress though.. interestingly while we a 9 points better than this time last year, we are only actually 1 point better off than in the preceding year fixtures ....
To be fair, if we ignore the spurs game, which I am going to, we are 4 points better off... There is that better
Because I've had a few beers and my general laziness, can someone tell me if we can get back to our rightful position at the top of the league after our routine win on Monday? I'm delegating the mathematics.
Well we're not going to beat Chelsea away every year. And the Spurs and Palace games don't count as they were our pre-season games.
Not to get too ahead of ourselves but a win would give us 19pts from 9 games and insane to think we would be halfway to safety already. A good time to be a saints fan
I Know, it's funny how dynamics change. Usually would want man United to beat WBA, Chelsea beat Newcastle etc but yesterday was hoping for upsets.
Games against the likes of Wolves (and Everton) I treat as different types of tests to games against the likes of Newcastle. You could argue that matches against the likes of Wolves and Everton are important, because if we really want to finish high up in the league this season, they are the sorts of teams who we would need to finish above. But it's the matches against the likes of Newcastle that we have spent four years dropping points in. If we've really progressed this season, winning against the likes of Burnley and Newcastle should be something which continues throughout the season.
Taken from the BBC website. Looks like we don’t like Mondays. Southampton could win four consecutive Premier League games for the first time since May 2016. Only Manchester United had earned more Premier League away points in 2020 than the 24 by Saints prior to the latest round of fixtures. They are one short of 100 Premier League goals under Ralph Hasenhuttl. Saints are winless in their past 12 Premier League fixtures on a Monday. Che Adams has scored three goals in his last four Premier League matches, only one fewer than in his first 34 appearances in the competition.
Well just to let you all know I am taking this seriously. We had a roast tonight for Mrs No7 & I and as she is a veggie and I am not, we double up on all the dishes (potatoes cooked in olive oil, potatoes cooked in beef dripping etc, etc, etc). I was a bit worried that I would be overwhelmed for the dishwasher game tomorrow morning, but I have put one load on and now will have a light load to empty in the morning. Maybe that is why we've been crap on a Monday as it always follows Sunday roasts?
Ralph’s let things go already. I remember the good times when we’d go top if we win our next game... #veryblueink
