    South Africa's captain AB de Villiers has been ruled out of the home ODI series and away Test series against Australia because of a persistent elbow injury. He will have surgery early next week and will need eight to ten weeks of recovery time.

    Younis Khan has been ruled out of Pakistan's first Test against West Indies, with doctors advising him 10 days of rest to regain his strength after recovering from a bout of dengue fever. This will be the first test he has missed since 2011.

    Dale Steyn has been ruled out of South Africa's Test series in Australia and could face up to six months out of the game with a fractured right shoulder. He did damage to the shoulder, which he had broken last season, while bowling on the second morning of the first Test in Perth.

    All seven franchises of BPL 2016-17 have agreed to rematches and have relinquished the shared points from the first four matches, which were washed out. This means that the points table will be wiped clean as the tournament is set for a restart from November 8.

    Ex-South Africa batsman Alviro Petersen has been charged with match-fixing, following a lengthy investigation into the domestic Ram Slam T20 Challenge Series competition in 2015.
    Petersen, 35, who has spent the last two years with Lancashire, is charged with multiple breaches of Cricket South Africa's (CSA) anti-corruption code.

    Surrey and England batsman Jason Roy has agreed a short-term deal to play for Sydney Sixers in the forthcoming Big Bash tournament in Australia.
    The 26-year-old is expected to play five games for the Sixers before joining up with England's limited-overs squad in India

    The West Indies Cricket Board has sent a notice to Darren Bravo saying the batsman's match contract has been cancelled due to the "disparaging" remarks he made on Twitter about board president Dave Cameron earlier in the week
