I did a predictor thing before the tournament and had England down to reach last 8 but then lose to France
Southgate drops Trips, Mount, Saka and Sterling for Walker, Henderson, Foden and Rashford. Wales revert to a back 4 Got a feeling Bale has one last match in him tonight and will score the winner.
I wonder if the commentators for the Iran/USA match will even talk about the match they're supposed to be providing commentary for?
I’ve been waiting for the moment of magic from Bale all tournament but really hope it doesn’t come tonight
The winner of that game qualifies, not sure why professional commentators wouldn’t be focused on the game they’re at
It's the BBC In the past their commentators have sandbagged a game they're commentating on because England's match would be kicking off six hours later
England the better team so far, struggling to create a bit because of the Welsh block though. I don’t really like Foden out wide for a team that isn’t City. Really we should have a winger out there and Foden at the top of the midfield, he’s such a good player and you want him to have as many touches as possible. Henderson and Bellingham are too similar profiles in midfield and it tells. Then again this is tournament football and even if we draw the game we could well top the group. It’s all about managing the occasion after all.
Henderson and Maguire are almost comically bad. Shaw pedestrian. Conversely, James and Ramsey are equally awful. **** game so far.
Shaw and Rashford’s linkup play hasn’t been on it and the midfield 3 are all too similar to each other. Suspect we’ll keep plugging away but wouldn’t mind seeing Foden come inside and Saka on for Hendo.
If Southgate weren’t such a **** manager, I’d say Rashford must have had naked photos of him as to why he gets selected for England… but because Southgate is a **** manager, it’s no real surprise he gets selected.
No pressure, Wales, but with the USA of America currently 1-0 up you're going to have to win 4-0 to go through
McKennie would be a brilliant Conte midfielder. I’m just a bit worried about his injury record to really, really want him. Plus we have a lot of midfielders. But he can do a bit of everything and does it pretty well.
The main argument against McKennie is he'll push Skippy further down the pecking order Mine, on the other hand, is it would possibly mean we dump off Hojbjerg in the summer
WTAF does Southgate think they need Henderson on the pitch? Wales are totally inadequate, but England have produced just one decent chance with 80% possession. Move Bellingham into a more central creative role and bring on Grealish or Saka.
