The Selby/Allen semi is unbelievably dull in comparison.

 

Yep, some of the pots from both of them all tournament have been demented. Great to watch. However, I backed Selby at 6/1 at the start, and while he's not nice to watch you have to admire his will to win at any cost. There isn't a player alive who's brain he hasn't damaged at some stage. Over these distance of matches the blokes just twisted, not playing anywhere near the old Selby, but I still fancy him to grind past Allen and tie whichever 1 of the other 2 make it to the final in knots. Surely somewhere down the line Si is going to realise what he's doing !

 

Ronnie seemed to stop trying.

 

The way that Selby and Allen are playing at the moment, either of the other semi-finalists would beat them.

It'll all come down to how they handle the pressure of the final.

 

The speed they are playing the final may not start until Monday.

I just want Mark Allen to have a decent break, the match would change completely.

 

He just had a bad session which is unusual & Brecel didn’t miss anything, wouldn’t say he stopped trying

 

It will also be how many chances they are given. There's no way that either Selby or Allen would give either of them as many chances as they've given each other. Selby wouldn't change his style no matter who he played, he's nowhere near his best and if he makes the final , I can see him slowing it down even more.

Brecel hasn't given him a chance, though.

I put a bet on Si with a 2.5 frame start before the match started, which meant he only had to get to 15 frames. He was 14-6 up!

As good as Brecel has been, Si doesn't look the same player.

 

The poor youngster has completely fallen apart.

 

He's won a frame to get to 16-15 with an excellent break.

I haven't ever seen Selby play this poorly in a Semi Final of a major apart from when he was suffering with depression, fortunately Allen is suffering as badly if not worse. Very poor standard at the moment but it won't affect Selby if he wins. Brecel must be in dreamland watching the form of these 2. If Selby gets to the final he's gonna have to improve massively. What he would gave is the experience of being there and owning the t-shirt. He may well end up taking almost 5 mins a shot in the final to totally disrupt Brecel's rhythm if he gets there.

 

I find it hard to watch Selby play & normally turn it off unless he’s playing Ronnie
