Selby's 147 was remarkable, but to come out and play four frames like that was absolutely brilliant by Brecel.

Brecel playing out of his mind and Selby nowhere near his top level, and he needed to be. Just can't see Selby playing consistently well enough to overturn the deficit. Brecel has been incredible, his temperament has been top notch and the potting has been worldly. It would be great for snooker to have a first time champion from Continental Europe, hopefully alot of players from there will see this and become future champions. Only thing that can stop Brecel is if the pressure gets too much for him, but I don't think Selby is playing well enough to take full advantage if Brecel falters.

Superb from Brecel. Fitting that he closes it out with a ton, he's been brilliant throughout. A worthy champion.

Selby had his chance at 16-15 but handed the chance to Brecel he needed when he missed the black . It looked as if Selby had him and Brecel was missing pots by miles, the only thing he couldn't afford to do was give him an easy starter to get his arm going again, and he did. Still, good all round for snooker and a new winner. Brecel played unbelievable stuff all tournament and deserved it. Will he ever be able to reach these heights again ? Gonna be bloody hard to , but would be great if he can. Expect to see alot more of Si in the future too, as long as it doesn't come to pass he's been doing what the majority of the Chinese players have ! I really hope he hasnt

Fantastic victory for Brecel, fully deserved.
It will be interesting to see if he can maintain that standard or if it's a bit of a one off. He really couldn't miss for long periods.
Selby almost had him I reckon. If he hadn't of missed that black and had made it 16-16, I reckon he'd have won as Luca was struggling till that easy starter got him going again.
Still had to pot the balls though and finished in style.
