Oriel under Pellegrino and Hughes and I would say Jack Cork, but Oriel as he was under Puel and now with Ralph I would prefer him.

Romeu was pretty consistant after he came into the team last season and I don't think that anyone could accuse him of not putting the effort in..

I would rather have Hoj and Romeu than Hoj and Cork. I think the latter are a bit too similar and we would be losing out defensively.

Mario and Oriel are a definite no-no though IMO.

Romeu is limited but very good at what he does, namely sitting in front of the back line breaking up play, Pierre and JWP provide energy and the passing.

I don't think the defensive element is at risk with either combo (and remember we play with three CBs most of the time anyway). Cork and Romeu are both excellent tacklers. The problem is more about the bridge between defence and attack. I'd say Cork slightly edges it. It's a tough one though for sure.

Biggest problem with the Cork and Romeu line up is that Cork plays for Burnley. Remember? No fading memories?

Just been reading that Everton forum and specifically about Lemina. They don't like us much do they <laugh>

"On Lemina, going on what I've read, he seems to be one of these big talents who plays for a nothing club with no prospects for a very good reason."

Bit late in the transfer window to be irked by some hypothetical garbage chit-chat. <laugh>
