That looks the business, would definately have been up for that in my younger years....but then I did jump out of airplanes for a living so there's probably a few screws loose somewhere in my head!
About 20 years ago I did one called the Fantasticable in Chatel in the French Alps. The wife did it as well. Only difficult bit is making up your mind to do it, rest of it you don’t have any control over. Great fun.
Yeah, not without my harness! I remember working on the roof of Guys hospital a few years back, 35 floors up working on some aerials over the edge and harnessed on, it was a long way down, but we were dwarfed by the Shard behind us
I know falling 100 feet or 1000 feet makes no difference to the outcome but still.......I feel nauseous watching them just hang there at the end.....
See, I'd have no problem with that as they are harnessed on...it's the free climbers that are insane, or these dudes back in the 30s before H&S came onto the scene.... Wonder how many deaths there were building these skyscrapers before they decided to use harnesses?
Amazing. Reckon it was about economics Steels. In those days jobs were scare and workers plentiful, even skilled ones. Now a worker is on the balance sheet as an ‘asset’ and the law makes it expensive to kill one. Except in Qatar of course.
Fancy some of these bridges? They actually look like they've been upgraded since I went across them nearly 25 years ago. It's the route to Everest Base Camp. I didn't find them too bad, but some in our walking group found it quite disconcerting that some maniac was bouncing all along it whilst they were holding on for dear life....I wonder who that could've been
