Morning good people from Wycombe this game could go either way, both our main forwards are missing Hume and Mellor, this is the caretakers last game so our lot may want to go out on a high note. Neither side can defendv suspect a goalless draw
If neither team can defend lets hope for some goals! How about a 6 goal thriller! Just hope the goals are not all in our net this week!
a tough game for the wanderers but we did prove earlier in the season that we could score goals against preston its just a shame we cant defend at all ,i can only see another heavy defeat but you never know.
sounds like utter defensive shambles whoevers involved but according to the stats we were good going forward and another 2 goals from trotta shows if he has the service, he will get the goals. i hate to put all the empisis on one game, but next week against rochdale is a make or break releagtion 6 pointer...but at least the last time we said that we won 3-2!
For the first time since September 24 North End finally managed to win a home game with a 3-2 win over Wycombe Wanderers although a first half performance which must rank amongst one of the worst this season nearly scuppered their chances. For the first 10 minutes North End looked as if they would score at will against Wycombe, as they opened the viitors defence with ease however with their first attack of the game Wycombe scored, the impressive Trotta's first shot was superbly saved by Stuckmann however Trotta clinically tucked away the rebound.(0-1) The early set back drained North End's confidence and for the next 20 minutes Wycombe really should have been out of sight or would have been but for the giant German custodian in the home net.Three excellent saves kept the Wanderers out as North End lookeda team of strangers thrown together after a night out in the boozer. Wanderers also had agoal disallowed which on another day may have been given. On the half hour the home side made a tactial substitution of went Barton n came Mayor and hey ho a shot on target pushed away for a corner by Bull. Bull failed to catch the ball from the corner and Bunn bundled the ball home.(1-1) From that moment the game changed and North End grew in confidence. All square at half time. Wycombe started the better and their other impressive forward Beavon wasinches away from converting a defence splitting pass. North End took the lead when Jervis converted another corner to put them 2-1 up. Within four minutes North End were further ahead as Wycombe inability to deal with yet another corner cost them dear. Morgan was pushed in the back as he was about to head the ball, a clear penalty although the visitors didn't seem to think so.Parry made no mistake (3-1) North End were i the ascendency fo about two minutes when they were reduced to 10 men after a second booking for Smith. Wycombe pushed back into the game and only some last ditch defending kept them out. Two minutes left and Trotta had reduced the lead with a shot from 15 yards. (3-2) Into the 6 minutes of injury time of which nine were palyed it was North End who carved out the better chance with Coutts forcing Bull into a decent side. Finally the whistle went and the home fans for once could go home happy Preston North End 3 Wycombe Wanderers 2 Att 10100
cheers for the report themaclad and well done on your win ,sounds like we done ok but yet again for the umpteenth time this season set pieces were our downfall, good luck on your promotion bid
Thanks for the report themaclad. You are either very kind or we did better than expected. The stats certainly made us look as though we were well in it but they can usually be taken with a pinch of salt. Can't beat a report from the opposition though. 6 points off the play-offs. Good luck for the rest of the season.
you just about deserved a draw. Our defending was about on a par with yours. Can we lend you a couple of full backs and a centre half please. If so don't bother to send them back.
