    The problem with this is you need to pay a real brain to mine the data.

    Like any big data project the person making the calls needs to be able to shift the result into the real world.

    Data would tell you to buy karius. Looking him in the eye when the chips are down will tell you no way.

    Data is good but interpreting it is where value is made

    It goes to show the importance of a manager who works WITH the scouts as opposed to against.

    We now have a successful and cohesive recruitment process.

    From what I read, Klopp has a say but it’s not the be all end all. Apparanrlt he has been vetoed a number of times.

    Most famous example is VVD where (allegedly) he didn’t want to spend that much on a defender.

    Either way, I don’t care - it works :)
