Luis Boa Morte retires from english football today and I think we should give him a nice send off by remembering the good times... For West ham he always ran about a lot, scored an amazing TWO goals and...... Is a very nice guy. All the best Boa,you did not achieve a great deal but thank's for trying!
Scored 1 goal in 2 seasons for Southampton, but we made a fair bit (£1.2m) when we sold him to Fulham.
Didn't he get sent off in his Debut? or score an own goal? I remember him having some horrific games.
From this video it seem's his glory days were at Fulham,he looked lightning quick playing for them.Cant believe West Ham paid £5M for him.
He scored loads of goals in our promotion season under Tigana - his first with us. And he scored the goal that beat Chelsea a few years ago. If that was all that he had ever done in a Fulham shirt, he'd be remembered for that alone. As I recall, there were rumours of a big money transfer to various clubs for a few years, and then when Coleman finally sold him it was at exactly the right time, as Bidley says. We got something like £7million for him almost immediately before his form started to fall away. It was a great bit of business on someone who will always be fondly remembered at the Cottage. Goodbye and good luck Luis; you were one of us and you always will be.
I dont remember it being that much,im pretty sure it was £5M because everyone was saying we overpaid
But Bidley, what's £2million between friends? You can't even buy Cameron Jerome for £2million (apparently)
And had an assist in about of half the others we scored that year - a whacking 105. You and Bidley are correct about the timing of his move, Captain. Mind, Player of the Year 2004 - 05 then off; bit of a poisoined chalice eh! Remind you of anyone? He was pace, pace and even more pace. God speed Luis.
Barely remember him I'm sad to say except as one of Arsene's first signings. I actually saw the thread last evening and it didn't click then that he was an Arsenal player. Looks like he found ' fame ' at Fulham. Anyway good luck for the future Luis.
