Just read that Josh went off to a standing ovation, apart from the two goals he set up, apparently he nearly had a couple of us his own. Pleased he's making an impact after his development seemed to have stalled last season.
Finishing the weekly roundup, Ricky played! I mean, 35 min sub appearance in a defeat in which he doesn't seemed to have done anything of note, but he got on a pitch and ran around a bit!
Their boss is probably one of the few championship sides to have seen Toffolo (and indeed Odjidja-ofoe and Andreu) play recently. They're also a club in a position where both us and them benefit from the loans, so it makes a lot of sense.
If your referring to the League 1 game. That's true for the two that went on loan earlier but he has been sacked so the new guy won't have seen toffolo
90 mins for Bennett as Bristol City were hammered by Fulham. Toffolo got 62 mins for Rotherham, in what looks like a left midfield role. Couldn't stop them losing 3-0 though. Andreu not in the squad. Hooper got a 5 minute cameo on his Wednesday debut, Turner not in the squad. Josh played the whole game, but MK Dons lost. Jacob also got the full game, and Coventry won 3-2. Remi Matthews an unused sub, as was Loza. Morris got a 35 min sub appearance for Hamilton. Cameron Norman played 90 minutes for Woking in the National league. Real Betis play tomorrow night. And finally, Grant Holt is on loan at Wolves now apparently, got ten mins at the end.
Ricky played 90 minutes! He may have lost 3-1, but he got a full game! Surely this is the first sign of an impending apocalypse??!
In the absence of DH, here's the latest: 83 mins for Bennett as Bristol City drew 0-0 at Bolton. Toffolo got 85 mins for Rotherham, who lost 5-2 to Ipswich. Andreu an unused sub. Hooper got a 66 minutes for Wednesday, who lost 3-1 to Charton. Turner was not in the squad as he has a knee injury. Josh played the final 19 minutes, but MK Dons lost 2-1 at Brighton. Jacob got a full game and scored, but Coventry lost 2-1 to Northampton. Louis Thompson played the whole game as Swindon lost 3-1 at Rochdale. Remi Matthews started for Burton Albion, who lost 3-0 at Peterborough. Morris got a whole game for Hamilton, who went down 2-0 to Hearts. RvW was an unused sub as Betis won 1-0.
Once again I think this illustraites how far from the first team these lads are. I think it's great that we are investing more in the academy and hopefully the next generation will bring us a hero or two who can bridge the gap from youth to first team. Bah!
Not sure what is illustrated GM, as Jacob and Thompson both played the whole game and Toffolo played 85 minutes. Toffolo has 4 caps for the England U20s and has impressed me and could provide useful cover for Olsson without taking up a squad place and the same might be said for Thompson at DM, who has 2 caps for the Wales U21s. I think this may be a make or break season for both Murphy's though, who have both played for the England U20s as well.
Cheers Rick, been slacking this weekend. To just add a couple of details: -Thompson raised the ire of the Rochdale manager, with a tackle which led to one of his players being stretchered off. Thompson only booked. -Ben Killip has been loaned to Lowestoft, playing in goal in their 2-2 draw this weekend, and is keeping up his goalkeeping duties for our youth side too.
