Great comment, Bigal. Those of us who follow Benjamin Bloom's channel on YouTube know that loving your team does not mean hating the other. Banter is great - I enjoy an anti-Ipswich joke as much as anyone else - but one effect of the 'Big Six' (soon to become Seven, I guess) trying to detach themselves from the rest of English football seems to be more solidarity amongst fans of the remaining clubs, especially in the FL. Bloom's channel, along with the other Ben from Preston, is a good example of this, as is the way fans of L1 and L2 and non-league football use the comments section of the Guardian to talk about all the English football which the paper now ignores. (Yes, sorry Duncan - I'm an avocado-eating, chattering-classes Guardianista )
I also regularly read the Guardian, as a toxic white male from my patriarchal systemically structuctured position of privilege, there's a lot of self flagellation .
My completely (to me) rational dislike of the yellow/green colour combination and prohibition on all Delia Smith publications will remain with me for life, there are, however, some things bigger than football rivalry! One of my biggest desires,football-wise,is the resumption of the Old Farm Derby!!
I disagree about yellow and green - I think it's a great combination, even if they weren't Norwich colours. As for Delia, I love her. She's a disgraceful old lush, and it takes one to know one.
Interesting to see the role Cantwell is playing, much deeper than he traditionally has. Kind of role he might have alongside Normann and McLean in a 5-3-2?
