For those who, like me, have lost track of some of our loan players, here's a list of all 18 and where they are: https://www.norfolklive.co.uk/sport/football/football-news/norwich-loan-europe-deadline-day-6585689
How old is Flynn Clarke? He is ripping it up in the 23's, scored two and made one against Middlesborough. Has also scored a couple in the last few matches. Peterborough tried to hang on to him but he chose to join us.
He turned 19 in December and I think he was on the bench for the first team a couple of times. Definitely a fast tracker.
Clarke looks sharp. And every time I see a few highlights of Kamara, I'm impressed. He has that coolness a good striker needs.
U23's lost 3-1 to Charlton in the cup. None of the team have ever played for the first team, so very inexperienced at a higher level, with players away on loan, in first team squad etc. Kamara scored.
Cantwell seems to have been playing primarily as part of a midfield 3 so far in his time at Bournemouth
Those games must have been when he was here as I believe he has only played 5 games this season for Bournemouth
The under-23s got a great win at runaway leaders, Fulham, including an assist for Tzolis, so let's hope that's the start of something good.
Just looking at what our youngsters out on loan have managed this season, and perhaps after a poor first half of the season, some of them are finding their stride? McCallum - Just 9 league games for QPR, and only 23 minutes since the end of October due to injury. Maybe he's a capable LB/LWB in the Championship? Hopefully he can prove it in the rest of the season by winning back a starting place and impressing. QPR are 4th so they aren't going to be giving him minutes through charity. Sinani - Pretty much an ever present for Huddersfield, remarkably playing in 7 different positions, with 6 goals and 3 assists. Second highest scorer for the team third in the championship, and clearly versatile, it's starting to look like a shame we agreed an option for Huddersfield to buy him this summer. Looks like that decision rests with them, not us. Josh Martin - finally got his season going at Doncaster after a torrid time at MK Dons. Started 12/13 games at Doncaster notching a goal and 2 assists. That sounds pretty reasonable at a club 23rd in league one, considering only one player in their squad has more assists than him, and has played 2.5 times as many games. Hopefully he can keep it up for the rest of the season and make a case for a Championship loan next season? Bushiri - Injured for the first half of the season, since January an ever-present at Hibernian. Part of a defence that kept 3 clean sheets in a row recently, including against Celtic. Bit of a card magnet, 5 yellows and a red in 10 league games. Unfortunately Hibs have an option to make the deal permanent in the summer, and he's out of contract anyway. Mumba - Fallen out of favour at Peterbrough although the manager has spoken highly of him. Comments from their manager about wanting to use players "who will be there next season" sounds like they've conceded defeat in their battle against relegation and are planning for League One. That's not doing Bali any favours. Oxborough - Broke into the Barnet first team in the National League in October after 18 months without playing, and has been an ever-present since. 35 conceded and just 4 clean sheets in 21 games for a team in the lower reaches of the division. Famewo - Another one putting in good performances, and is a first choice CB at Charlton. They also have an option to buy this summer with his NCFC contract up. So of those 7, maybe 1-2 who could come into our squad next season?
It will be interesting to see if Seb Soto gets some meaningful pre-season time back with the club too. Just 4 sub appearances for Livingston so far. Another year on his contract through till end of next season.
