Not sure if he can be recalled next window. Season long loans have no recall clauses in them as far as I know.
It would be counter productive to recall him to sit on the bench in case Max gets injured . Mumba will come back a much better player for the minutes played and experience
The experience is certainly beneficial, but he only got his chance because Plymouth's summer signing was injured at the beginning of the season. He's more than a back-up for Max though as he can play on either flank or at DM or CM. If Hayden gets fit that's less of a problem but much will depend on how things are in January.
Not necessarily, but he's two years older than Gibbs who is currently walking "straight into our starting 11". I'd prefer Mumba at DM in the absence of Hayden. Also, if DS decides to go with a back 3 and WBs, Mumba would be a good fit for that.
He's only ever played as a wide player for Norwich u21s and his loan stints which he's improving the more he plays getting lots of assists and even scoring . To bring him back and develope him as a defensive midfielder seems bonkers to me . It's also madness that we keep signing midfielders and even loaning them out but never buy a DM. Skipp was on loan and went back and then 2 seasons later we sign Hayden on loan despite having injury problems. I'm sick of moaning about not having a DM every year , 14 games in and Hayden has still never played for us. He could be brilliant or total garbage it seems daft pinning our hopes on the guy . Webber should make signing a DM in January a priority. I doubt Smith thinks Mumba is ready for Championship football yet and if we go up that's a big ask to think he's good enough against Premier league opposition. He's got a bright future hopefully but he's still learning.
I believe there was mention of a recall clause in January, but not before. By which point hopefully Giannoulis, Sorensen and McCallum will have all returned to fitness.
Bali Mumba scored again, the equaliser for Plymouth in a 2 - 2 draw which keeps them 2 points above you know who at the top of the table.
