Does he deserve to be under pressure of losing his job? 19 points off the top of the table sitting in 4th place. Out of the Copa Del Rey to a smaller team. Still in the CL but up against PSG in the next round. But in his time at the helm he has won La Liga, 2 CLs (first manager to win it back to back), 2 CWC, 2 European super cups and a Spanish super cup. Does he deserve more time? Has he only won so much because of the team and not his ability? Does his record so far entitle him to another season to sort it out?
I think I’ve found the root cause of Zidane’s problem which was also the main reason for his success.
I'd give him more time but Real are ruthless and will sack. One **** season doesn't mean he's a **** manager. Even Fergie needed 2 years to rebuild United and was getting stick from some of the fans. 2 CLs and a la Liga is very impressive. Even then, you can't blame his lack of la liga in 15/16 to him as he took over in Jan from fat rafa.
no two ways about it, once he's out of the CL perez is turfing his arse even though he's a club legend
The core of that side has been Ronaldo, Modric, Benzema, and Bale as far as attacking potency goes. Both Ronaldo and Modric are now 32 and probably past their peak. Benzema 30. And Bale is permanently injured.
Aslong as Zidane can keep them in the CL qualification spots, then I think he deserves the chance to rebuild in the summer. All sides are going to have seasons of transition after successful periods, you can't just continue to win, as players sooner or later will lose form, wether that be from age, or a lack of motivation. After a very successful period, things have gone wrong for them this term, but I do think Zidane can rebuild the side in the summer and get them back to winning ways. That's just my thoughts though, but it's not usually the way Real Madrid operate, so I wouldn't be suprised to see Zidane lose his job. If he does lose his job, I'm sure plenty of the top sides in the PL will be looking at him. I'd like to see him at United some day.
Would you swap your current bird to have a go on Jennifer Lawrence? don't think you need to go verbalising stupid questions like that matey.
Pochettino is one of the best young coaches in Europe. Your squad is talented but short on world class players - Poch has so far overacheived with the resources he has. I think if he leaves, you go back to being also rans. Zidane has done no more at RM than he should have done with the players at his disposal. Plus, I doubt you could afford Zidane. You pay extra for legends.
okay, maybe not J lawrence for you, you're probably more a holly willoughbooby guy. . Anyway, point is one is a proven winner
I don't get this proven winner ****e. Yesterday's achievements don't mean **** all today in football or you wouldn't have sacked a double winning world class manager.
This is where i think it's a bit unfair. Apart from this season (which hasn't ended) he has done the maximum he could have. He won the CL when he took over in 15/16 when Real were in turmoil under fat rafa AND he won it again last year. Apart from Ancelotti, no one at real has won it for 01/02 and Pep couldn't win it once with a dominating Bayern side. As for winning la liga, no one since mourinho in 11/12 has won la liga with real. This set of players are the same set of players pretty much since Jose was in charge (minus bale whos been a crock). It's not as if Barcelona are a bad side, they had Neymar, Messi and Suarez.
Where I live most of the Real fans’ ire is directed at the players, not the manager. There will probably be a bit of a clear out in the summer. This season they have only one target left and I expect them to put all their effort into that .
