Very good run out for the boys today. For the first half with the new signings we looked disjointed as you would expect given the short time together and defending was poor. The second half with the established players we looked really good going forward and some look to have moved up a level (perhaps knowing it's their last chance with a new manager), Memphis looked the player we would have like him to be, Jones looked like he might finally be developing into a good CH, Lingard (who did really well last season) looks to have moved up yet another level. The whole inter-play and understanding in the second half was very good for only the 3rd pre-season game, much to be optimistic about.
Interesting view from JM - "If the players were not in my plans I would not give them one single minute, I would not keep them in my squad. The squad is very competitive, the squad is very important for the season. We have 38 matches in the Premier League, we have the possibility of 15 matches in the Europa League, plus domestic cups, we are going to play 60 matches. So with 60 matches we cannot do it with 11 players. To be in the squad you have to understand that the squad is more important than the individual, the club is more important than all of us, and to be in the squad you have to be ready for this, to play, not to play, play a lot, play less, play 90 minutes, play one minute, not be selected, everything is part of a squad life."
I have no problem with us signing Zlatan Ibrahimovic at all, he'll help the likes of Marcus Rashford and Anthony Martial in my opinion.
Permanently? You mean like forever? I think his performances might start to decline a bit once he hits 55...
Zlatan Ibrahimovic's agent just prove how good a player he is when he rejected other clubs for Manchester United.
