A great appointment IMO. Think he's a genuine good guy.

Things looking bright for Watford! That would be a great coup for them. I have always kept an eye out for them in recent years. Zola's teams play great football as well.

Seems rather unfair on Dyche, who's done a very good job there.

Your view is not shared on the Watford board...

I think it's a backward step. Controversial, but I do.

Dyche did superbly in a tight situation and unless they are prepared to shell out then Zola will do no better.

When you compare pre-season expectations last year, with how things actually turned out, Dyche is right bang up there as one of the over-achievers. In no particular order, I would say that Dyche, Adkins, Ferguson and probably Freedman all completely blew pre-season expectations apart. Were it not for their horror finish, I'd have put Keith Hill in that list too.

Dyche really has been shafted over.

Tough break for Sean Dyche, but new owners do like to bring in their own man, and will be interesting to see how it goes for them. I don't remember Zola particularly tearing up any trees at West Ham...

I think Zola is a decent manager but his signings at West Ham were pretty much all garbage!

I think it's very harsh on Dyche and, personally, I can't see Zola doing a better job.

I hope someone gives Sean Dyche another chance, think he's got potential. Zola is a nice guy, but if the board don't support him, its going to be a long hard season for the fans.

If you've kept any eye out for Watford as I have then I thought you would share my view that this is not a fantastic move. I share DTLW's view that this really is a backwards step. After a few naff years fighting relegation he has turned them into a solid unit (our two results vs. them last leason being the exception). He really looked to have put the foundations in place and able to build next season, and would be very disappointing to be replaced by someone who hardly made a positive impact with west ham.

Sean Dyche was Championship Manager of the year last season in my eyes.

Dyche will land on his feet, though. Assuming that he doesn't get a job by the start of the season, every significant team in the Championship will have his number on file should their teams struggle early.

Confirmation that Dyche has had his contract terminated.

Sorry, but the way Dyche has been treated is nothing short of disgraceful. The way that the new owners just tossed him aside is unbelievably disrespectful. And to be honest, they really haven't improved their manager with Zola. If anything, Zola's worse.

Yep, the football world is frowning at them. Tough task for Zola now.

Totally. Much as I do like Gianfranco Zola, I hope Sean Dyche gets an another good job in the Championship, where he takes a team on meagre resources, plays Watford and BEATS them.
