No one wants to sell Jak. That's Ehab, the fans, most likely slutsky. Jak will want tO go, it's more money, longer contract. Now unless any of you know a way to make Leicester bid for Marshall then it will happen. I'll be quite happy with greegsy as number 1 anyway.
So you mean despite Ehab Allam then? He put us in the back foot before a ball had been kicked last season, he doesn't seem to have learned from his mistake this time around.
It's a good point but that's sports journalism Chazz. Tweet him and take him to task on his wording perhaps? He'll respond. Although PB is not there to promote the club, he's there to report on it. Remove yourself from our situation and look around, you'll see the same elsewhere and equally with clubs that have a good relationship with their local media. One of my former charges is a BBC media link with Derby County. He reports the good and the bad, but at least the club actively reach out and clarify or provide information and so his reports are much more nuanced and actually work in favour of the club. They and others work with the media and actually set the agenda rather than leave a void to be filled by other clubs/media/online sources. Many clubs will include the sports media with updated but embargoed information and this tends to be respected and then released at a time agreed. I experienced that when working at BBC Lincs. The events you mention unfortunately are happening simultaneously and sadly our beloved club is frankly piss poor when it comes to dealing with the fans and working with the media. North Korean style, poorly produced propaganda from Ehab isn't good two-way communication and actually lends itself to ridicule. If anything, I am surprised we don't get a harder time of it from the press and broadcast media alike. I am not defending the media here, far from it, I am just stating how it could be better. On a separate but related point as to the wording, I hate the way that everything has to be a 'snub' (other such examples/situations apply) twisting the verb as if turning down a contract has some really deep nasty connotation to it. I accept that for maximum impact even the most trivial event is subject to such OTT tabloid discourse.
**** off Tweet??!!! You've seen my phone... I did read a bit in the Sunderland echo when they were relegated and it was all, this great club deserves this, the best fans etc etc.
Well they players we brought in failed because they were nowhere near the required standard. I really don't think Bruce or Phelan sat down in June and said "Right, I want 6 goalies, Will Keane and some kid from Man U who can't get into a Championship side, but not until deadline day."
Not defending them, just thought it was an half decent debate on a slow news day. Take the two kids out, if we'd have signed 4 players that would have had some impact, not even necessarily massive, I believe that we'd still be a PL club. It was the weakest PL in ages and there wasn't much splitting the bottom half at all. They were all pretty meh.
Steve Harper ( the goalkeeper ) always annoyed me how he was happy to spend 75 % of his career as a sub , if Jak goes to Leicester he is just as bad , and before the standard response of what would you do if somebody offered to double your wages comes my way , I don't think he will be going hungry on city's wage
I agree, he must've just spent 4 years on our bench - does he want to go back to that? Have Watford signed a keeper yet? If not he'd be better off going there.
Agreed. But they do. That begovic was a great keeper for stoke, he went and sat on the bench for a fortune at Chelsea.
I think the standard for comparison should always be Pegguy. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Pegguy_Arphexad
I wouldn't want him back TBH. The first few games particularly against Man U he was a beast and he was lethal with just the keeper to beat, but his technical ability is almost non-existent and he's a red card waiting to happen.
