Well it's never happened before so let me know when it does. They may both be under the FA but it's not a FA rule.
Allowing them to come back up, having had an unfair advantage over 2 other relegated teams, then applying a deduction next year, doesn’t seem like much punishment.
Depends on the size of the deduction I guess. Especially if they're looking at a potential double-deduction next season, for breaching the rules in consecutive seasons (similar to what Everton are potentially facing this year). If it was big enough to send them straight back down next season (assuming that they go up this season), I suspect they wouldn't find 2025-26 in the Championship anywhere near as fruitful a 2023-24. Their financial constraints would likely be even tighter. They probably wouldn't have a Maddison or a Barnes to sell for decent money. Without any question, getting to spend one season back into the PL before falling back into the Championship would still be more beneficial to them financially than remaining in the Championship. But I wouldn't go as far as to call a second relegation in three seasons as not much of a punishment. On the other hand, if their points deduction next season is measly, then I would agree with you. So far, the tiny deductions handed out to Forest and Everton aren't exactly scary. Barely feels like a punishment at all, unless it ultimately leads to one of them getting relegated. Maybe should have also been a transfer ban, or some sort of wage/spend restriction.
I see that they've now been placed under a transfer embargo by the EFL. Obviously that won't have any impact on this season, but it could hurt them for next season in terms of being able to make a start on new transfers over the summer. Even if they're promoted, I don't think their registration passes from the EFL to the PL until 30 June? Meaning that they'd still be an EFL club for at least the first few weeks of the transfer window.
Since we played them, Norwich have won 8, drew 2, lost 2. That's a decent record. 26 points from 12 games. And Josh Sargant has scored 10 goals in 12 games. Dark horses. You just know they'll screw Ipswich over in the playoffs.
10 points from their first four games. Sargent gets injured in that 4th game, and I don't think he played again until the game before they played us. They barely won a game during his time out. 13 goals in 18 league games this season (and two of those games he was only on the pitch for a few minutes) is superb. I suspect he'll be playing in the PL league next season. But I don't know who with. I wouldn't mind it being us. (As something of a quirk, I think Rothwell has an even better minutes-per-goal ratio.)
Watching the build up to the Leicester game and Sky put up a “Race for promotion” caption with just 3 teams on it. I always hope those 3 teams will lose, but want it even more today, with us winning of course.
Did give us a mention just now, but as a bit of an after thought and that we are looking to “gatecrash the party”
Bristol City playing the same system they played against Leeds where they were utter ****, not the system they played against us Expect Leicester to win comfortably

That was a gift for Vardy. He hasn't found his shooting boots yet. Surely one will go in sooner or later.
