It’s such a long way from U21 football to first team men’s football I’m afraid. Each step, from advanced centre, to academy, to U18, to U21, to U23, to first team is massive and the overwhelming majority will never complete the journey.
True but Casey is either 17 or just turned 18 so undoubtedly has promise. I saw him once for the u-18's, and he scored 5 goals then. How well he does now depends on his attitude.
The U-18's go into the 4thnround of the FA Youth Cup with a 2-1 away win at Uddersfield. Casey on the mark (Of course) and Wales for Charlton after going behind. Away to Bristol City in the next round, hopefully if we get through we'll get a home game.
Jan 4th Millwall 1 Charlton 6 Shame it was just the U-21's. 3 for Ladapo, 2 for Mbick 1 for Enslin. Casey didn't play, presumably being saved for the first team on Saturday, otherwise we might have run up a cricket score.
A fantastic 4-0 for the U-18's on Monday against QPR. Fantastic especially because it was the second string, most of them very young, the U-18 first team plays tonight away to Bristol City in the Youth Cup.
The postponed match kicks off at 7 o'clock this evening. The winner is rewarded by an away trip at Spurs.
Shame about the way he left us, but for 17.8 years he was very committed to CAFC, so deserves a mention. https://londonnewsonline.co.uk/sport/charlton-fans-favourite-chris-solly-announces-retirement/
U-18's equal on points with Bristol at the top of the league, but with 2 games in hand, set to win it again. Steve Avory is doing his bit, has done for years. How abahrt a Steve Avory Stand?
He can certainly be proud of his career with us. With all the s*** that has gone on elsewhere with the club over the years he has cracked on with developing the youth set up.
