I think you were the only one to get both jokers right, and at four points a throw it makes all the difference, also helped you steering your joker away from Wolves a match prediction everyone fell over on.

No replays ! - so - that'll be a win-win for the 'big' clubs - while for the 'smaller' clubs and its' fans, it's Lose-Lose brb - will you be counting replays next season ?......I'm asking on behalf of the 4 or 5 EPL clubs that might otherwise be affected with an exhausting extra 90 minutes of 'work'! I think it's an absolute disgrace that replays (( outside the qualifying rounds )), are being scrapped. - all to appease a tiny number of clubs near the top of the EPL who think it beneath themselves to engage with sides below 6th in the EPL - let alone from divisions further down the football pyramid.... Yet they're all happy to be involved in the ever increasing number of CL games ((( it's getting to be like a ESL in all but name. ))) The FA should hang their heads in shame for being dictated to by the top 6 in the EPL... all for greed and money -- which along with the traditions and magic of the cup, is being denied the lower league clubs and fans. There is an argument that all the time idiots like me pay into Sky etc, then money will dominate - and that my viewing habits contribute to the problem of money governing all sporting logistics....... But - I can defend myself because of my commitment to 'live' match attendances ( only because I can afford both. ).... A lot of people who pay for Sky etc do so to buy a product that gives access to many different sports and many matches - for the whole household - whereas the cost of a match ticket (( even at Priestfield )), cannot be justified from the household budget. The FA Cup has lost part of its' magic when games ( other than the Final ), were diverted to Wembley... Now, without replays ( the financial lifeblood of smaller clubs ), I don't see much, if any, 'romance'. If a 'small' club gets an 'away' draw, their task is [usually] much more difficult - but at least they get some cash but denied a replay. If the small club gets a home draw - well - that's all very lovely - but the income will be much less and - if the game is level at 90 minutes, the fans are denied a replay at a ground that might never be seen again for a very long time ( or ever ) - and, again - the 'smaller' club get far less income.....or, as I like to put it; ''Sweet FA.''
It's shameful what has been agreed by the governing bodies, but it was also heartening to see clubs such as Grimbsy Town, Accrington Stanley, along with Tranmere Rovers, not forgetting our own club and Joe Comper (Managing Director) also putting out tweets on the topic. Not forgetting non league clubs, with representatives of Dorking Wanderers putting out statements. It's down to all of us to challenge these elite governing bodies, hopefully someone within us will come forward with a suitable action/response and we all stand up and be counted to challenge a few people, that want to steal our game, just to reward the cream of our game. On the minor point of our little competition at not606, the FA Cup is always about the winner, however that is achieved as there is no monetary value or reward for winning it, other than punters loving a challenge - sadly our game has a far bigger challenge and it's time to hit back.
Now our owner has his say, well said Brad, time to fight back. Brad Galinson @BradGalinson The FA Cup is the oldest national football tournament in the world, spanning over 150 years. It is made up of less than 3% PL teams. Nonetheless, the governing body chose to change material rules in a closed door meeting for their 30 pieces of silver. Shame on them. @TheGillsFC 8:55 AM · Apr 19, 2024 · 11.8K Views
