    I would rather keep him.

Kiwior, White and Tomi are very similar.

Zinchenko offers us more going forward. He also offers good midfield cover (if Arteta ever played him there)

I'm not saying we should actively be offering him to other clubs, but for the right place, I believe there are upgrades we can get. £45m is a more than reasonable price and I don't think we'd turn that down if we did get offered that.

Na ..an upgrade on Zinchenko for 45m in today's market is not easy.

He was below his best for the first half of this season, sure. He's experienced - knows how to play our style of football and covers multiple positions. You need players like him in title winning squads,

Also people are forgetting how good he actually was last Season.

    Ben White signed contract extension:

Fully deserved. Got pelters after his debut against Brentford in 2021, but has been nothing short of exceptional since. And his quality has been showcased by the adaptation to playing right-back from last season where his game has been taken up another level.

Great player. Really positive news <ok>

Benny boy (suntan man) is an absolute class act, just goes about his business and generally performs as required week in week out. You can see his improvements over the past season or two and right now I see very few other players in the RB position I'd swap him for.

Would take him in an instant:

Would be far cheaper than Diomande

Yep. I think he's an outstanding player. I've been raving about him all season.

The only thing I'm not sure about is whether he'd be content to be a squad player because, right now, he will not get in the team ahead of Gabriel or Saliba. At his age, he'll want guaranteed first team action and that's not a certainty here. If he's happy to be a rotational option and wait for his moment to break into the team, then we should be all over it.

    Tomiyasu deal confirmed.

2 year extension until 2026 + option for further year. Considering his injury problems, I think this is a fair contract renewal for him. No point being a quality player if you're only fit for half a season at a time.

On the plus side, in the past 18 months, we've agreed new contracts for the core of our defence - Gabriel, Saliba, White and Tomiyasu. So this is good news to get them all tied down.

Current rumours are still DM and striker.

    Zubimendi - still getting mentioned.
Kimmich - has also been linked

Isak - possibly with Ramsdale or Tierney going the other way (plus cash).
Gyokeres - Having a crazy Season at Sporting.
Zikzee - rumours are also back again.

I feel like Isak and Zubimendi are the most likely signings.

I would assume this means either Partey or Jorginho leaving in the Summer as well as Nketiah who's linked to West Ham and Palace.

If thats our Summer business....Phase 4 looks like:

    -----Martinelli/Jesus------------Isak/Havertz-------------------Saka/Nelson------
    ----------Rice/Nwaneri------Zubimendi/Partey-------Odegaard/ESR-------------
    Timber/Zinchenko---Gabriel/Kiwior-----Saliba/White--------White/Tomiyasu
    ------------------------------------Raya/Ramsdale-----------------------------------------

Would allow for a very flexible squad. Havertz can play up top or in midfield.
Jesus can play anywhere on that from line. Isak can play CF or LW.

Dowman is our Odegaard regen. 14yo and playing in the U18s and doing this:

With Nwaneri that's our attacking midfield sorted for the next 15 years.

Think we need to be careful before putting such lofty expectations on kids. Just let them progress naturally before comparing them to our best players at the moment.

Everyone thought Patino was going to be our next Fabregas, but he's not getting into the Swansea team and, with one year left on his deal, it looks likely that we're going to get rid in the Summer. There's so much development these youth prospects need before we put the weight of the world on them. There's a lot of players who standout at U18/U21 level and then struggle to make the jump to top-flight football.

Looks like a hell of a team that! TBH Arsenal win the league this year with a 15-20 goal striker - still might to be fair but honestly think they are running out of steam at just the wrong time, few more canny additions, as above, and you'd be a shoe in imho.

As an NUFC be interested to know what you think you'd have to pay for Isak even with Rambo (£30-40m) or Tierney (£5.52p) going the other way?

For me I don't think you can afford him in all honesty - we've just got him this season for £65m on a six year deal - 5 years remaining at the end of the year - and going to end up on 20-25 goals this season, even with the makeweights you've mentioned you'd have to be looking at well over £100m to just sniff his boots.

Having spent massively over the last few years (£500m outgoing vs £100m incoming) are you concerned about FFP or have the Arsenal been cute and amortized the payments??

Nah, I don't see us getting Isak at all. He's the jewel in your crown and probably your most important player. I think we'd have to offer well over £100m to even get Newcastle in negotiations - and even then I'm not convinced that would be enough. There's not a whole load of top quality strikers at the moment, so it makes him even more valuable.

I'm saying this in hindsight, but we should have got him in January 2022 when we had the opportunity. Sociedad wanted £70m I think and we weren't willing to pay that much. I could understand why because he wasn't that proven at Sociedad, but sometimes you need to take a risk if you truly believe in a player's talent and quality. I think we were so scarred by the Nicolas Pepe transfer and how that financially damaged us that we were being so risk averse.

Regarding FFP, it’s not been raised as a big issue/problem area but we do need to be careful due to our expenditure over the years we were out of the CL. Hence why we couldn’t buy Raya outright last transfer window and will pay the £27m for him this upcoming window.

However, with 2 consecutive years of CL income, improved sponsorship deals and TV revenue, and the likely departures of a number of players which should see us gather around £75m+, I think financially we are looking quite sound at the moment. Just need to be shrewd in how we spend our cash and avoid Pepe type situations again.

    Don't really disagree with that.

When it comes to Isak I just think it will be hard for you guys to keep hold of him. I don't think he'll go for much more than £100m.

I am a little concerned about FFP but our wage bill is still a lot lower than Liverpool/City/Chelsea etc.. and I suppose Nketiah, Tierney, Partey, Marquinhos, Tavares, Lakongo possibly Ramsdale will all be offloaded in the Summer freeing up more cash. Plus we may well make the Semis (fingers crossed) of the UCL which will bring in more revenue.

Don’t think we’ll get both of them but I’m glad we’re targeting a striker and winger this Summer. It’s huge to the next development and progression of the team.

Would like to see us go in for Guimares too. We were heavily linked with him before he went to Toon

    Yeah or Douglas Luiz.

I think it all depends on where Arteta see's Rice long term. An 8 or a 6.

Think Odegaard would be a brilliant 8. ESR as the #10.....
