Scott's cunning plan to replace Dobbo with Coventry is sheer lunacy. Dobbo is better in every aspect of the game, and apart from Bexley you won't find a fan who agrees with the decision. Scott should hang his head in shame.
Scott hopefully will have minimal say on recruitment now, I am guessing that Jones agreed to the job with certain conditions, and one being he has the final say on players coming in.
CAFC is truly adrift in a Sargasso Sea of mediocrity. 14 games unbeaten. But only 4 of those 14 were victories. And only 4 victories in our last 27 league games. That's well over half the season. And that 14 game unbeaten run has lifted Charlton 4 places up the league table. Only the bottom four teams have won fewer, or an equal number, of games. 6th place is 21 points above us. 16th - where we are now - is the highest we can finish even with a last day win. 56 points the most we can finish with. Allowing for adjustments (3 points for a win) our lowest tally in the 3rd tier for 98 years. We are not only truly a 3rd Division side, we're losing our grip even on that status. I assume there was not much celebrating at the Valley when the full time whistle blew. Shrews fans had more cause to. Their team are mathematically safe now. A target Charlton achieved only the previous Saturday.
Well that might of cured my grandson of his desire to go to a live match. It's certainly cured me if wanting to go very often. Since the last time I went all sorts of parking restrictions have been put in place making almost impossible to park and the football wasn't much better than at Bromley which I can walk to.
Such a shame about the parking restrictions. The area around the Valley was one of the last in London I think not to have such restrictions placed in every little quiet back road. I always used to park on Wolfe Crescent, or maybe St Alfege Road. Not anymore.
