This all adds to my not being very impressed with him. The first thing he should realise is that he needs to impress the fans. Fail to do that and he's toast - to use a mitoism.

Obviously. But talking out about it suggests he likes the attention, his statements are about him too

 

I am sure most of us here would be keen to take the job doesn't mean we would be good at it.

 

I won't name names, but a couple people on here would just forfeit the rest of the season after the first loss, claiming it's impossible to still win the title having lost one game.

 

Just for a bit of balance - I'm pleased that he's not one of the merry-go-round managers and not an 'obvious' choice. He will have my backing should he be the one.

 

Meh he was asked about it and said clubs are negotiating and I’d like to go… Not like he turned a question about the game at the weekend around to talk about himself.

Klopps given the party line and said slot is a good guy and a good coach so you lot better get in board or admit you don't actually like klopp at all.

 

Asked our not, he shouldn't have said anything until it was agreed. It's disrespectful to both clubs imo.

The Liverpool way is sort it out behind closed doors before speaking. Will just have to see how he deals with the media if he joins.

 

I agree 100%. I think whoever the owners are talking to should have a non-disclosure agreement in place to stop them giving information to the press. It's disrespectful to Klopp to be putting his replacement in the limelight while the season is still in progress.

Obviously we have no idea whether Slot will be the replacement but it's another distraction for the players when they need full focus on the remaining games.

 

It might not have been the best way to go about things, but I'm not going to fume over it. If he does come, I don't want to see the relationship between the fans and manager get off to a bad start.
Virgil didn't exactly go about things the right way either, but no-one's bothered about that now.

 

What really bothers me at the moment is how Virgil went about handling Klopp's announced departure.
