Or you could take the other view is they haven’t got a clue on who to replace Klopp with and they have become desperate which is why it’s all playing out in the media.

Compensation agreed - 7.7m plus 1.7m add ons.

Time to concentrate on making sure he’s walking into a CL club as minimum now and then give him chance.

Can't say I'm overjoyed at the appointment and it's making me miss Klopp more now that it's real. Like you I'm prepared to back the new man and give him a chance.

Players now know that they are being assessed by the new boss and if they want to stay next season they need to perform.

Seems a bit unusual to have add ons for a manager

Hurdle1 for me is do not go sign some no mark cos you worked with them before.

Hurdle 2 will be learning what to actually do with better players cos for me he's never in his life been near players like he now has at his disposal and they are not good enough to win much either.

    So only time will tell

Really surprised by all the doom about him.

Klopps going, it’s sad but at the same time it’s exciting to see what the new guy can bring. It’s been 8 years since had someone new in charge and change can be a real good thing.

Hell never be klopp. But then I’m sure the older members here thought same when shankly left, then paisley etc.

New fresh ideas, should reinvigorate things and bring excitement to the start of the season

It was always going to be like this after Klopp. I do have concerns that he's never worked (or played) with top players before but everyone has to start somewhere I guess. Hopefully, he has a good team around him to help.

I'm excited about a new adventure though

Sink or swim in this world whether you’re a household name or not - we’ve made our choice, let’s hope it’s a good one

Once Klopp had been here a couple of years and we could see where he was taking us, I was always apprehensive about where we'd go after him. That time has come now - sooner than I'd hoped - and I'm definitely nervous about it.
But that's how it is, and we have to get on with it. We have to give the new guy every chance, because he's got big boots to fill.
Man U have had a parade of failures since Fergie left - let's hope we do a bit better.
