Just back home from a fkin long ass day at this event. It pissed down with rain too and it was **** lol It's like being in a band gigging again. Get all the kit from the lock up, load the van, drive to the venue, unload the van, set it all up, do the event, pack it all down again, put it in the van, drive back to the lock up, unload everything again. Except I'm doing it all on my Tod this time I'm sure there must be easier ways to make money lol
You got that flight radar 24 app Flos ? I use that when my loved ones are jetting off. Just gives you a bit of peace of mind seeing the flight live
I've often said my long haul days are done, and I will always stick to Europe from now on, but China does appeal to me. No idea why, I can't speak the language, I don't even know what regions I would visit, think it's one of those countries like Russia that is always on the bad boy list, so I think why not lol. Another place I see advertised a fair bit is Borneo, but I jsut think leave the Gorilla's in peace ffs - suppose they need tourism for conservation but not sure if that actually works out like that.
It's great if the customers and the sales are good, but the weather can really screw with that. Do you ever do any indoor events, at least with them you aint got to worry about the season, other than getting the stuff in to set up of course.
Yeah it's a mix of stuff. Easier indoors, coz you ain't got to set up a gazebo and it doesn't matter about the weather. It's sort of three pronged my business. Direct sales to the public, online and wholesale to shops. So it's not a disaster having a day like today, but it's just a lot of hard physical work prepping all week and then going out and selling. Up at 5:15am this morning and not home til 9pm.... long ass day.
Yeah ... we did it on the way to China (and was why I was posting so early this morning!) and the missus is doing it now as it looks like the flight to Cambodia is due to take off anytime soon ... will soon be 24 hours since the flught from Heathrow took off ...
fail to see what all this drama is about its just a standard plane flight unless i'm missing something
No drama other than the worries that just come with being a parent ... and also that the delay is entirely down to the torrential storms making it unsafe to take off ... for 10 hours... do you have kids mate?
Don't know what the time difference is but if the flight is delayed to the next day they will have to put her up in a hotel overnight.
She landed in China at 11am this morning... still en route to Phnom Penh now - will go to bed as soon as she lands ... eventual delay was shorter than they initially broadcast ... around 6 hours ...
She's over Pangtungtuk as we speak, which gives us only 3 hrs 27 minutes until landing I won't sleep til she's there either.
