Is there really any choice regarding Dobson though? He's a very good player and a top bloke (going by things I've read about him), and I think 99.9% of fans would love to see him stay. But if a deal has been done, how can we break it? Would that not cost too much to be feasible? We're already supposed to be on our uppers despite having billionaire owners I don't know. Maybe there is stuff going on regarding him that I'm not aware of. I think we should try to keep Miles Leaburn and give him one more season to show he can stay fit. Again I'm assuming he hasn't already gone. Sometimes I get out of touch with the current situations on players.
I am sure the Hungarians will release him at the right price. We will be bringing in a player it is just an unorthodox way if Dobson ''comes back'.
I think we should forget Dobson, he is gone. He has done a fantastic job for us. Always gave 100 per cent. Charlton will not be buying him out of his Hungarian contract.
Dobson looked good with the shower of ****e around him - would be a good squad player should we keep him
The club should communicate its list of released players this week. It’s going to be an early indication of the level of the investors ambition.
Dobbo has been our best midfielder this season. Andy Scott has failed to bring in anyone better in three transfer windows. I have no confidence that he will do so in the next window. So I say we should pay the money to buy Dobbo back. It will also serve as another kick in the balls for Scott and that alone would get my vote.
100%, we know what we're getting rather than a new player who may not fit in. What difference does things make if we pay the Hingarian mob dough to resign him rather than pay 'x' club, it is still a body. Dobson appears to want to stay, and Jones seems to want to keep him.
I’m not giving up on Dobson just yet. His Dad has been clear that he wants to stay, and I prefer to listen to Mr Dobson’s interpretation of what happened, and not Mundells. He was legged over by Andy Scott. It’s far from ideal for us to have to spend a % of our summer transfer budget basically buying back our own skipper but that’s the consequence of having clowns in charge.
Scott's replacement for Dobbo was Coventry. There is no aspect of Coventry's game which matches Dobbo, which shows how good Scott's eye for a player is. Did he even see him play though? We've got got a history of signing players who haven't been scouted at all due to injury or poor form, and this predates Scott.
Unless Scott is removed from any player recruitment duties CAFC will not be getting anywhere near going up. It's as simple as that. Nathan Jones or someone he trusts should be doing all that. No more interference from suits. Let football people do their jobs. If Scott is still in post by July, my ST money stays in my bank account.
