I agree that keeping players happy has just become much harder. Players such as Tyler and Stevenson that have done little wrong and have been hanging out for opportunities all season must feel as if they have regressed in the pecking order. I also think the track record of January transfer arrivals at Fratton has not been great in the past. As a minimum we have substantially strengthened our bench and a couple of the new arrivals may get first team football but there is not a new player that I could confidently predict will significantly strengthen the team. However, we have our best chance of promotion for some time and the activity in the transfer window indicates a positive attitude of trying to take full advantage of it. which is to be welcomed. PUP

Pompey thought he wasn't getting enough playing time at Poole. He played quite well for us in pre season friendlies, even scoring an excellent goal. He is a tall pacy striker who the club think may make the grade. Let's hope he can.

The 29-year-old, 6' 1" tall Wales international was available following a mutual agreement to leave Ipswich at the start of February. Blues boss John Mousinho said: “We’re delighted to welcome Lee to the club and boost our midfield options for the remainder of the campaign. “He has plenty of Championship pedigree and experience of winning promotion out of this league, including with Ipswich last season. “Lee is a hugely experienced footballer and is comfortable with the ball at his feet, but also a physical presence in the middle of the park.” Evans progressed through the ranks at hometown club Newport and helped them climb into the Football League. He moved on to secure promotion from League One with Wolves under Kenny Jackett and Wigan under Paul Cook. It was a similar story at Ipswich last season, with Evans playing Championship football at all three clubs, plus Sheffield United. He scored six goals in 61 appearances for the Tractor Boys, including a hat-trick against Doncaster in September 2021. Evans has been capped four times by Wales at senior level, making his first start in a 2019 friendly win over Trinidad & Tobago.

Sad. I was contemplating buying a ticket to Bolton away in the home end but tickets are only on sale to members who have been registered since March 14th. Remind me next season to register to a whole bunch of clubs before the season begins. Not having a Portsmouth or even Hampshire address will help
