    In the penultimate week we beat mighty Leeds at home and, inexplicably, nobody foresaw the 4-0 thrashing that we gave them. Hoop-Leif was top scorer with 15 points, followed on 14 by Sing Rs, Trammers and myself.

    Heading to the final week, surely Steels's 19 point lead is insurmountable. European places up for grabs, though.

    Soops was well clear at the end of last season and I ran him close, so taking nothing for granted.
