18 months have passed since RD's takeover and it's fair to say we've witnessed a high turnover in players - from the dreaded January 2014, to the more optimistic June/July 2014. So before we embark back in to the unknown - I just though I'd ask, what's our best XI since the takeover. Mine goes like this: Henderson Solly - TBH - Morro - Wiggins JBG - Poyet - Cousins - Bulot Kermo - Watt Now this isn't a RD bashing thread, but from my XI, 6 of it were already at the club when he took over. It would be interesting to see the contrast from your good selves between players originally here to RD signings. Nick - Anil Koc is banned from this thread
The team practically picks itself, maybe I'd have Gomez instead of TBH, but the lack of a natural RM sticks out like sore thumb. I'd love to have Wilson as he was before Millwall Bob, with Poyet and JBG in the middle, which would be tough on our POTY, but hey-ho.
Here is my "Duchatelet All Star 11" Etheridge Nego Bikey Johnson Koc LePoint Petrucci Buyens Moussa Polish Pete Reza #eurotrashfc
On a serious note, the Belgian has signed about 28 players so far, and only 3 of them have been an unqualified success - Henderson, Ben Haim (now gone...), and JBG. Another half dozen have been partial successes - the likes of Igor and Watt. The rest have been utter, unremitting crap.
Bulot was utter dross for 66% of his stay. Improved a lot later on but still patchy. Does not deserve to be in anyone's "best" XI.
I'd add Coquelin, and upgrade Watt to the unqualified success list, but the hit rate seriously needs improvement. And I'd stick last year's Jackson in the all-stars.
I wasn't Bulots biggest fan, but think he's been the best option on the left since RD took over. The Coq is a great shout. I could lie and say I wasn't including short term loans, but the truth is my short term memory seems to be getting worse
All seriousness I always thought that Ajdarević was better than Bulot, and would have rather seen him stay at the end of the season. Seems, what we can all agree on, is we get more crap than good players.
I try not to think about that complete and utter calamity. I still cannot keep a straight face, when I found out that Roland Douchébag thought that he was a better keeper than Hamer!
No mention 'cos I can never remember how to spell it.Looks like he was trying to be an anagram of Tracy Ullman, who was probably a better keeper in her day!
When Roland took over didn't Richard Murray tell us that his Fantastic European Scouting Network would give us an advantage over our rivals? By the way I'd drop Buyens and bring in Tucudean and play 3 up front. And Coco in goal of course.
Next season we will need a 20 goal striker if we are to mount a promotion challenge. Think Vokes/Ings from Burnley....or the goal Charlie Austin scored against us at Loftus Road last season to turn a 0-0 into a 1-0 win for them. We have nobody of the calibre *at the moment* IMO. Igor starts applying the Ambre Solaire in October, and Watt has shown nothing to suggest he is anything other than an honest yeoman who lacks consistent goals. I touted You obviously did not see Etheridge at Watford away last season
