I know what you mean about Ridley Scott, to hear him speak you'd think he wrote Do Androids Dream.

Forever War movie rights have been sold so a movie is in the offing, Channing Tatum is penned in as Pte/Sgt/Capt/Major Mandela.

6.5/10 Basically all the best bits of Rocky with an added shooting.

    Uncle John
0/10 ****in tripe, switched it off after 30 minutes

    Revenant
6.5/10 Far too long to tell a basic story. No idea why DiCaprio is being nominated for an oscar for it.

    The Big Short
9/10 Excellent - Bale's ****in magic in it!

    Hot Tub Time Machine 2
5/10 Sunday hangover movie - mind candy

A fascinating story with some more than capable performances by a decent cast. Just not quite gripping enough for me.

    Legend 7.5/10

The movie is a 6/10, but Hardy is a 9/10. Particularly brilliant as Ronnie.

    Step Brothers 9/10

Probably about the third or fourth time I've seen this but, somehow, it never gets old.

The bear scene was great. I would've loved to see more of the story behind the man who survived it though.

    No Escape
    9/10
Watching this made it hard to breathe because of the suspense. Haha.

    Everest

Ok, but there are far better true life stories of Everest which would have made a far better movie.

Suburra by Stefano Sollima is worth a gander.

If you enjoyed ACAB, Romanzo Criminale or Gomorra its worth at least a once over.

****in pish! 1/10 It gets one as I'd pump the burd.

    Deadpool

6/10: good. A lot of funny one liners but not really my thing.

    Bridge of Spies
Excellent: 9/10. Some great charactyers and Tom Hanks is brilliant.

    The big Short

Probably the best horror movie you will see all year.

    9/10

    Ava's possessions

Pretty good low budget horror flick about a girl who has been possessed and is in therapy to help her deal with it.

    Hail Caesar.

Do yourselves a favour, don't go anywhere near this. Truly awful (and that's from a fan of the Coen Brothers) 1/10

    Batman vs Superman

Action and special effects were typically good but the film itself was pretty bad I thought.

Affleck was alright as batman though.

I very much doubt I'll be going to see it tbh. I'm sure it will be as mindnumbingly dull and predictable as I expect it to be.

    Captain America: The WInter Soldier

Although I've seen it before it's still a thoroughly good action movie so enjoyed it just as much as first time around.

One of the best superhero flicks 9/10.

Also, watched Straight Outta Compton again on Saturday morning. As a fan of NWA, this was really good - overblown/OTT in places - but with some great acting. 7/10.

Duel, haven't seen it in like 20 years and forgotten how good it was. It seemed far more intense when I was a kid though. What I appreciate now is the way Spielberg made Weaver's character look like the dangerous freak to anyone who he encountered, rather than the bloke actually chasing him. Clever stuff.
