I'm sure the Irish would be fine with putting up an England or Scottish one on their public buildings .

A flag symbolises a region or area of land that defines the nationality. So I would disagree with say...a Scottish flag being flown on my local authority building.

Although my most hated flag has to be this one...



It defines a union state, which I have no wish to be part - it erodes multi identities by creating one cloned identity, similar to Hitler's dream. Each and every country should be governed by its own and none other.
