Good article Eastney His winning goal looked effortless ! I went to the same school as Bobby Stokes, even in the same year as him. He excelled at all sports, but his elder brother David was as good as him at football, and I believe went on to play for Fareham Town; also as a striker; when they were playing at the same level as Waterlooville and Gosport Borough.
Cheers Woop - sad that he died so relatively young - so you're a Paulsgrove lad then - Fareham T did at one point look like they would stay in that arena but fell away to Hampshire League - not sure what league they play in now.
Hi Eastney, I was born in Surrey, but we moved down to Portsmouth when I was eleven, and lived in Southampton Road, very near to where Port Solent was constructed. Happy days !
