Not sure if there is a thread on this already but we have 3 players in the top 20 slowest PL players.
Opta have published the stats and the Daily Mirror reported on it earlier in the week.
I am unable to insert the link but hopefully one of you boffins can do it.
No guesses for our 3 slowest but some of the others are surprising

They're botched. Huddlestone not a surprise though...

He could run faster if he tried harder.

Hardest trainer in the squad. Allegedly.
    Not sure at what though.
Having said that, I would rather see him playing than many others. But, wtf do I know?

A lot of them seem to be midfielders. People always seem to bemoan the lack of pace of Huddlestone, but I really don't think it matters as much in that position at all. Pace in attack and defence, and out wide are great assets, but having a holding midfielder who lacks pace really isn't a problem.

A holding midfielder who lacks anything remotely like a biting tackle is more of one.

I would have thought Curtis should be somewhere near the bottom with him being a centre back.

Except when an opposing midfielder, Lee Tomlin maybe, runs past him and he entirely gives up the ghost, and the opposing midfielder goes on to score.

    Pace matters.

if a team plays tippy tappy football then the ball should be doing most of the running creating the illusion of slower players ,
Im clearly talking horsebabba because we dont play ticky tacky tippy tap tap very often , especially since crab passer retired

The problem there is being beaten easily. As well as the fact he beat several more players. Pace would have made **** all difference. He obviously hurt himself too.

Clucas has been our stand out player so far this season for me.

If a neutral saw him and Mason play in the same game, I wonder who the neutral would think was the £13m player and who was the £1.7m player?
