Been a naughty boy in my R32 and am down to attend my first Speed Awareness Course. Just read the invite and notice it's FOUR hours long!

Anyone been on one and if so, what's the crack?

    Cheers.

    I went to one once.

There's nothing to really worry about - - no test you have to pass or anything like that. You just have to show up on time and stay for the whole class.

The instructor we had really didn't preach at us very much and a couple of bits of it were interesting, though more bits of it were on the dull side.

I went on one about 7 years ago, as Fredd says it's nowt to worry about. I actually found some of it quite interesting and it must have had a positive effect as I've not been done since.

That said, my bicycle's not as quick as it used to be.

The wheels on the bike go round and round, just not as fast as they used to.

Could have something to do with pedal power I suppose.

I had to go to one of these recently, pretty much as Freddd says pretty straightforward .. I did however learn that the road I'd travelled up on was actually dual carriage way and I could go 70mph instead of the 60mph I'd thought .. so they taught me I could get home faster than I'd arrived ..<ok>

I found a lot of it was bollocks to be honest... hard to swallow their propoganda that speed cameras (especially the mobile ones) are about safety rather than revenue... there was one guy on the course who wanted to make his (valid) points but all it did was make it longer for everyone.

btw - it's your first and last - you get no second chances to avoid points if you get caught speeding again.

4 hours, consider yourself lucky. I had to do the young drivers course. The class itself was 3 hours (full of young driver stereotypical patronising ****e) then I had to complete 7 modules onlline afterwards each unlocking 3 days after you hadd completed the previous one. Talk about a pain in the arse

I would imagine most of the speed awareness would be about the poor forgotten family. That's a good thing. <ok>

Not too sure why making you have sex was included in the course. LOL

Prepare to be patronised for a few hours.

How much over the speed limit were you?

It's better than points on your license.
