Why would he have handed in a transfer request to go to a lower division ?

I Wouldn't want Holt. I think for him it just clicks for him at Norwich and it works and it wouldnt anywhere else

Norwich is his club I think he needs to realise that before there is no turning back from what he has done

I feel like that with certain players, strikers mostly as they are stand out players in their squads and the team is built around them, Ricky Lambert and Rooney are perfect examples

I totally agree with Lambert. I think he would be out of his depth in the championship but it just works for him at Southampton.

Wayne Rooney I don't agree. He is a world class player and would fit in at most clubs

My point being that Rooney is argubaly United's best player, if he left it would be hard if not impossible to get a striker that would click with the other 9 outfield players straight away like he did, United's team is naturally molded around Rooney now
