This week sees two play off contenders go head to head. Its Hornets versus Forest, its Zola versus O'Driscoll. This could end up being a play-off 6 pointer. HISTORY Both clubs got new owners this season and have seen a rise up the league as a result. Both clubs have also seen a few new faces on the pitch. TEAMS Watford are without Captain John Eustace, so Manuel Almunia is likely to deputise. The Hornets are also missing defender Lloyd Doyley as he struggles with a calf injury. Star front man Fernando Forrestieri is unlikely to feature as he struggles with a hamstring complaint. However, long term injured midfielder Prince Buaben is available again. Forest could welcome back Simon Cox who has been out for a while with a foot injury. However, they are unlikely to risk Sam Hutchinson (knee) and Jermaine Jenas (calf). MATCH FACTS Head-to-head ⢠Watford and Nottingham Forest have each won five of the 18 league meetings staged at Vicarage Road. ⢠Forest are unbeaten in five home and away Championship games against the Hornets (W2, D3). ⢠Watford's 2-1 victory in March 2009 is their only maximum in eight home league games against Nottingham Forest, and their second in 13 over 26 years. Watford ⢠Watford are three points outside the play-offs, and pursuing a fifth win in eight league games. ⢠The Hornets, who've already used 30 players in this league campaign, have scored nine fewer league goals at Vicarage Road than on their league travels. ⢠They have hit the woodwork no fewer than 13 times in league games. Nottingham Forest ⢠Nottingham Forest are hunting a fourth win in seven league outings and have 12 more points than at this same stage last season. ⢠Forest have not conceded a single goal in their last five pre-Christmas fixtures, and have not lost one since a 1-0 reverse, away to Doncaster, in League One on 23 December 2006. ⢠Dan Harding is poised to make his 300th career league appearance. The Man in Black for this match will be Neil Swarbrick who has issued 49 cautions but sent no players off so far this season. BHD's prediction I have a feeling this will be a score draw. ENJOY THE GAME!!!!
thanks Dan ...i think this'll be a toughie...obviously we're going to get back to winning ways, though i suspect my usual prediction might be pushing it...i'll still go for 3-1, though a hard fought 2-1 might be more like it! Can't wait to get to the Vic though...it's been way too long and i miss the Rookery!
for the thread Dan! It's going to be a tight one me thinks, but I still see the Golden Boys coming out on top U'Orns
Nice one dan 5*'s from me... Going to be a tough game as I expect Forest to have done their homework and really press us in midfield and look for the break aways. Will be interesting to see if GFZ has worked on a Plan B to counter this? But I am going to revert to my old fav score of 3-1 to Watford, but with the visitors scoring first! We will be in a box starting the Xmas period with a bit of a party - so if you see some strange goings on in the Upper Rous, you know who it will be!
Forest manager seems to be moaning about the number of loan players we have.. Lets hope Deeney,Yeates and Hoban stick one away to keep him quiet then! On a serious note I think this is another very tough game against a side with decent attacking options so should be an open game. 2-2.
my bets are on...if we're winning 2-0 at half time and take the game 4-2 i'll win big lol...um...not giving up the day job just yet
