At Swansea this season, 3 Chelsea fans were arrested for possession of a smoke bomb. The smoke bombs weren't let off. They were all arrested and 2 of them sentenced to 28 days in prison as well as a 6 year banning order from any football ground. Now it may be just my own opinion... but this is an absolute joke and something I feel quite strongly about.

The appeal from one of the lads was rejected. Judge said that the potential harm and damage was a factor in the conviction. We have had smoke bombs in our away support at Reading, Brentford, Southampton, Leeds and others. No harm whatsoever. In fact, us supporters enjoyed them. It's a smoke bomb. They are used in paintballing matches and used at concerts. 28 days in prison for POSSESSION is a joke especially when you get less for carrying a knife around on the streets, child abuse, possession of child pornography. Ridiculous.

“The football banning orders made by the court will be enforced by police forces to ensure the vast majority of fans who are well behaved will be able to enjoy matches in a safe environment.”

This quote shows how much of a joke it has become. They want us to go to a football match. Sit down. Enjoy the game. Occasionally clap. Some grounds (Sunderland) are forbidding their supporters from standing!? It's becoming more than a joke. Across Europe, flares are let off. Loads of smoke grenades. We hardly ever have heard of people being harmed form these incidents and in grounds in Europe, they are accepted. So why not here? How much harm can some coloured smoke really do? We aren't the only teams to have used them. Many have showing that us fans like to use them. It's just my opinion but they shouldn't be banned and getting 28 days in prison for having something which is used at paintballing and at concerts is ridiculous.

Also the judge said that it could have caused panic... Panic!? In recent games where they have been used there was no panic. People enjoyed them... started chanting/bouncing... Some of the things said in this hearing make a mockery of how us English football fans can behave. The Germans are now renowned for having great atmospheres. They got their ideas from the English fans here in Britain... Oh how times have changed.. and for the worse
