Not getting a look in. I think he could do a good job but he needs game time. Surely he gets allowed a loan move. Loads of interest last season so I hope a Championship club comes in and give him the game time he needs. Recall clause should be put in.
Does the Loan window open in a weeks time ? I think Malky might have a few players on his loaned out list.
McNaughton & Lappin are other one's as well as that young keeper signed from Brentford. Don't know why they didn't loan him back.
Agree with Moore being loaned. Lappin and Velikonja should be allowed frees - problem is their wages are probably too high for other clubs.
Yes, Joe needs competitive game time. There must be a Championship club out there who would make good use of him - with a recall clause of course. Lappin, Kiss and Velikonja also may be loaned. I can't see us letting Velikonja go for free. We reportedly paid £2.5mil for him only a year ago so will want to get some of that back. I think we also paid about £500k for Kiss in the last window. Not so much of a loss but again not sure about writing it off. Lappin was a free but we only have 3 left backs in Tayls, Declan and Lappin so might need the cover. Okay we have McNuggs who can play there but might he be up for a loan out as well as fully covered at right and centre back provided Brayford remains. Also, will Conway play much apart from cup games? So, about half a dozen potentials to reduce the wage bill in the short term plus any other youngsters who could use the experience and get regular games.
I think once you move up to the Prem you really start to look at some of the guys. TBH I just do not see Mason being a starter for any Prem top 10 side. He may always be an excellent Championship striker or lower Prem striker. Gestade, Kiss, Conway, McNaughton, Veli, Maynard, Connolly and a few others fit into that category as well. Over the next two seasons, if we can stay up, so many of those players will be sold and moved on. In two seasons time, we will probably have just three or four left from our championship days. If we go down at the end of this season, all the long term contracts we have signed should mean we keep a very strong team together.
I suspect a number of the players recently signed will have clauses in their contracts either reducing their wages in the event of relegation or having buy out figures to enable them to be off loaded for reasonable amounts. Heard a rumour this morning that we were trying to sell Maynard in the transfer window. Anyone else heard that?
Maynard must be wondering about where he'll fit in now with our new signing yesterday. Tommy Smith is another on the picking up wages for a bit of training list along with Conway, Kiss, McNaughton, Brayford, Velakonja, Moore..........
