Exclusive - Bircham: 'There's more to QPR than just Taarabt' Listen+back+to+Marc+Bircham+on+the+All+Sports+Show By Michael Wade Sunday, July 3 0 comments Marc Bircham has told talkSPORT that there is more to Queens Park Rangers than just Adel Taarabt. The 22-year-old Moroccan has been strongly linked with a move to Paris Saint Germain who are belived to be willing to part with around £13m for his services, with many claiming Rangers wouldnât stand a chance of Premier League survival without their gifted talisman. But Loftus Road legend Bircham reckons there is much more to Neil Warnockâs squad than that, saying: â[Adel Taarabt] was just a piece in the jigsaw. We have players like Paddy Kenny who won Players Player of the Year and Fans Player of the Year so he was just as big a part of it. âAdel Taarabt did fantastic last year but it was the foundations of the team that let him express himself.âMarc Bircham âSome of the other lads have done fantastic this year as well, Ali Faurlin, Clint Hill and Shaun Derry. They did just as well, they were magnificent. If you looked at QPR we were a very solid team. âAdel Taarabt did fantastic last year but it was the foundations of the team that let him express himself.â
Yeah, as Willy's exercise showed us, we realise the team does have some able foundations... but those foundations didn't do much about getting goals scored. Need to find answers in those departments.
Pretty much spot on for me, Brixton. I don't see either CMS or DJ being the answer in front of goal. However, I am a fan of Bullard if we do need to replace Adel. What do we think of playing either Jamie Mackie or Tommy Smith as the front man?
Bullard is no replacement for Taarabt. Can't see either Mackie or Smith scoring many goals in the Premiership.
I can see both Mackie and Smith scoring goals, but they are not out and out strikers, and not number 9 material.
