Our aim is to increase in number, and make visible, a specific type of City support that we have always enjoyed at our club but believe has been ignored for far too long during our meteoric rise from the depths of despair to the most glorious days our history. THE TIME IS RIGHT, THE TIME IS NOW, CITY 'ULLTRAS HAVE ARRIVED THE MANIFESTO City 'Ulltras have formed as a direct antidote to the sanitised matchday experience that frowns on the very type of support that sustained us through our darkest days. City 'Ulltras have no leader, no spokesman, no membership scheme, no exclusion or inclusion policy other than:- - To be a City 'Ulltra is to adopt a simple singular state of mind. - 100% commitment to the club by Singing, Standing, and Supporting our team with passion - no matter what football life throws at us - good or bad. If this they way you like to support City then you already are a City 'Ulltra. The most visible presence at home and away games will be the large 'ULLTRAS banner that has been jointly commisioned by those who have made the first steps to make this a reality. It is expected to be a visual rallying point for such supporters especially at away games. The artwork is original and consists of a rampant tiger and a face scarfed figure designed around the three crowns of our magnificent city. The artwork can be used freely by any independent City supporters by prior agreement. Although the group will consist of supporters from all generations this is NOT an attempt to return to, or emulate earlier un-official supporters groups from our past, they have had their day and were perhaps appropriate for a different time. We already find our style of support sometimes in conflict with stewards and with other city fans specifically regarding standing. We do not not want this. We believe that passionate support can and should co-exist with more 'recreational' support with some simple sensible adjustments at the KC and via our away ticket allocations. We call upon the club to implement the following:- AT THE KC STADIUM 1) Creation of a safe standing area within the east stand as per the campaign by the FSF 2) Designation of the same area as a 'singing section' that can be optioned at the time of season ticket renewal or ticket purchase. 3) Ticket application advice that clearly inform people that standing is to be expected at times of high excitement and that adult language and banter is to be expected in this portion of the ground 4) Elimination of corporate advertising in this area of the ground so that fans banners and flags can be freely displayed 5) A urgent review of KC stadium policing levels to reverse the trend of 'over-policing' and regularly inconviencing city fans whilst away supporters seem to take liberties and commit crime with little consequences. FOLLOWING HULL CITY IS NOT A CRIME HUMBERSIDE POLICE NEED TO JOIN THE 21st CENTURY 6) As numbers increase and a stadium expansion takes place the above area is expanded pro-rata AWAY GAMES 1) request that host clubs can split our allocation into a simple singers section or family section ticket 2) request that host club stewards allow the placement of city flags and eliminate petty 'fire-risk' excuses for banning our flags 3) request that host club stewards understand that by selecting a ticket in the singers section ticket holders understand there may be some standing at moments of high excitement The 'Ulltras anthem is a simple and subtle re-working of an earlier chant CITY 'ULL, CITY 'ULL, CITY 'ULL CITY 'ULL, CITY 'ULL................CITY 'ULLTRAS CITY 'ULL, CITY 'ULL, CITY 'ULL CITY ULL,...................CITY ULL See you at the match'
This is a cross board campaign, with all the City message boards getting involved(hopefully), the banner will be unveiled at tomorrow nights game.
Dunno if i like the flag- the Tiger looks a bit cartoonish. Maybe just putting the Tigers Head badge on it would be better. 'Ulltras is a good name though. But if you're going to carry on singing throughout the match and piss Cooper and his cronies off then good luck to you.
'Ulltras is a great name - love it. As for the flag, I like it, very Italian looking which i imagine is the point. Tiger couldve been more menacing though. Still, I am LOVING your work.
I've pulled the other two threads and just left this one, I agreed to work with everyone's favourite fanzine City Independent, to promote this campaign. As Mussie mentioned on his thread, the latest issue of CI also has the lyrics to Three Day Millionaire in it, so get singing.
Maybe not such a bad idea, especially given the current campaign nationally to re-introduce some standing at grounds, and the lack of atmosphere at KC. Can't help thinking there will be some big brother types reading this (club, plod, dinosaur local councillors, Health & Safety jobsworths) who will clamp down before this gains momentum. Shame, because many clubs in Europe have worked with 'Ulltras' on this, the best known example is probably Barcelona. What bothers me tho is the 100% commitment and standing bit. Until the clubs intro seat/standing areas, people like the Ulltras have got to understand there are those who can't stand all game. After going away for decades, my old man stopped due to the arrogant gobshites who stood all game and not just for goal celebrations. Hip replacement and age meant he cannot stand to see over some twats shoulder. If clubs can show you seating plans when buying season tickets like cinemas do, they should be able to allocate tickets on a seat/stand basis ... shouldn't they. Then everyone should be happy. So understand what the Ulltras stand for (get it?) and think it could be a step forward.
And - if you haven't got the copy of CI - here are the lyrics: http://www.informatik.uni-hamburg.de/~zierke/watersons/songs/threedaymillionaire.html
Great idea ! Show the the club, some fans want to support the team with noise.Im just praying they're not going to start playing music when we score. Three day millionaire should be the song we've been waiting for !
I mentioned on one of the pulled threads that there was previously a city ulltra's message board, admin of that board got a lot of hassle of the old bill. I support the idea in principle but could see it being self defeating. Good luck to those who give it thier support. If this causes confrontation and an all or nothing situation develops then the outcome will be nothing. A blind eye is given to away supporters standing and this may cause a change.
I saw a few of the flags (banners) have to be removed last year because it covered the arco advertising sign - truly embarrassing hopefully things will get a lot more entertaining and the stewards will be less pushy Anyway anybody got any new songs (or reworked some foreign chants) then ????????????? Its one thing making up a group but we really need some new songs as i think we all know or else we will sound just as boring as before
