Does anyone know if these are any good? I'm going to buy a new TV and have heard the picture is really good. But don't know what they are like for computer games. Thinking about buying this LED one:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Samsung-UE3...2?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1264703287&sr=8-2

    Or this Sony LCD Bravia:

    http://www.amazon.co.uk/Sony-KDL40W...4?ie=UTF8&s=electronics&qid=1264703319&sr=1-4

All advice is welcome as I know **** all about TV's really. I've got a 32 inch Panasonic Viera Full HD just now but my mate has offered me £150 for it which I can just put towards a new one.

Cheers Nev. Think I'll just buy the Samsung, got a 22' Samsung Pebble in the bedroom and it's pretty decent. Someone told LEDs were **** and to buy a plasma but the **** had just bought a plasma that cost £800 so I don't trust his opinion.

**** Global Warming, drown the English and decent summers in Scotland. Whats not to like about that?

Your current Pana is worth more than £150 quid, sell it on ebay pick up only and you should get a few more quid for it.

What's the point in getting rid of a very good 32" tv to just buy another more expensive one? Panasonic is may favourite TV brand, in my opinion they make the best TVs in their price range. Good LCD (not LED) tvs show HD content a bit clearer than Plasmas but struggle with normal everyday tv content - your Panasonic will deal better with normal football on Sky sports than an LCD will although your Xbox might look better on an LCD. LCD technology is more expensive than Plasma also, so a Plasma which costs around £600 will usually have a better picture than an LCD which costs the same - although LCD tvs can be much cleared when you move into very expensive models. Have a look at this http://www.plasma-lcd-facts.co.uk/research/colour/

I'm getting my house back in Belfast when my tennant's lease runs out next month and I have my eye on this TV http://www.dabs.com/products/samsung-ps50b451-50--plasma-tv-5GL3.html?refs=51570000 - it's not full HD, but neither is SkyHD or my Xbox 360 and I'm not gonna pay for Blu-Rays so it makes **** all difference. I've also got my eye on this one http://www.richersounds.com/product/plasma-tv/panasonic/viera-txp50s10/pana-txp50s10 as well but I'll see how my finances pan out next month.

Oh i didnt notice the first link you gave was LED - they do look good and are quite skinny but I'm not sure how good they are at showing normal quality video as I've never seen an example of it in the likes of Currys. I think I'd rather have an extra 18 inches for the price to be honest.

I do like the Panasonic, Mick. I specifically bought a Panasonic Viera because it kicked the arse out of the Sony Bravia at the time. I've had it since May 2008 and there is a pixel missing which really does my head in. I have Sky HD just now and the picture on the Panasonic is good because the screen isn't "shiny" as I call it.

I've got a Xbox Elite which can apparently handle 1080p although I can't really notice the difference. The reason I fancied a LED was because they are a lot thinner and can handle a wider range of colours. I'll be waiting until I see a LED in the flesh until I buy it anyway. Cheers for the advice, I'm not really clued-up on technology these days.

I can't have 32 inch tvs anymore, I bought one for my bedroom in Malta and it pissed me right off. I've a 52 inch tv in my living room in Guernsey and now the 42 inch tv in my mother's house looks small - so I have to get a 50" for getting back into my house and I can't afford a LED near that size. Anyway be careful if you wanna splash out on something top of the range as they are bringing out 3D tvs in time for the World Cup see this http://news.bbc.co.uk/1/hi/technology/8483136.stm

Cheers guys. Not in any rush to buy it anyway. Might hang fire and wait for the 3D TV's, although I suspect as with most things when they first come out there will be bugs and be ridiculously expensive as posers will spend the money.

I'm a cheap ****, my current TV was an ex-display that I bartered down because of the missing pixel and the fact they'd lost the box for it. Got £200 of the price, it was a total bargain.
