Not at all Durbar. It is unusual for a new comer to comment on the workings of a football forum. Maybe you are an ex-poster who has previous experience of this forum. It's not a strange comment from a Mod at all. I see it as part of my job to look out for new posters and welcome them. If they're over critical too soon I become unwary. That's also part of my job. If you are genuine then there is no problem. Probe a little more and I won't trust you.
I just thnk its like the Police policing themselves, sometimes self -imterest overcomes fairness. I have no reason to doubt Beth or Tremore but being in Banking I have some doubts about how impartial some people can be when dealing with their own.
I tend to agree with you. But the site owners have decided that this is the way they want to proceed. If you can stomach that then please join in and except it for what it is. If not then you can jolly well **** off and find somewhere else that will accommodate you. This is a free site and you possess the ability to join in and participate as you wish. If not.. then you can **** off! .. and when you get there ... you can **** off some more! We don't need you participating on our site. Fair enough?
Wow, your language and attitude is a good reason why we need mods from Aldershot!. Can you hear yourself? Does you family read this? I've posted on here a few times and never heard anything like this. A post on a site the mods don't like prompts this kind of response. Happy New Year!
Dont know what happened here..i cant get past Stans putdown TBH..hillarious. Not sure what Durbar's isue is. He/she has been posting here recently and never posted anything quite that stupid...yet ( )
Being in banking, would you say it is normal for a new banking employee to voice concerns over the integrity of the board of directors? The impartiality that you suggest would require a salaried moderator across the forums and would probably be more brutal and unswerving in upholding the forum rules. Basically, exactly like the BBC 606 site which is contrary to the idea behind this site from the outset. As Nines says, a newbie with specific interests in the politics and infrastructure of the site stands out as prime candidate from embittered former member. My advice - if you're motivated as such, you'll need to put in your hours as a football poster and QPR fan before suggesting forum changes because I don't think this is a place of discord in the slightest, no one is waiting for Che Guevara to pitch up on his motorbike and so you won't get very far with non-football agendas.
Hi Durbar. I work with a number of charities....in all cases their Trustees are derived from people interested (but in many cases) passionate about the causes /reasons of the charity. That is the only reason people work hard for free. It is the same here...the only reason I said yes was because I am passionate about QPR....I do not want to and will not moderate another board. I have not got the time or energy. For everyone's information....due to the complexity of the new site and the fact it is New Year...Trmore and I do not yet have mod powers...so 999s is still carrying all of the load of the site as he has for the last 3 months as well as working anti social shifts... Durbar why ask 999s about your suggestion, he/we cannot act on your suggestion.....why not go to general chat and have a Chat there, ...you could attract the attention of the Supermods there talk with them because after all they are the only people who can act on your"interesting" idea. But if I am asked to mod another board....I'm off
Again, not really. The Aldershot example was given to illustrate to you the idiocy of your own suggestion. I'll try and keep things simple for you from now on. You should be thankful for the tolerance and generosity of the mods on here. I would have banned you on first sight of your avatar. And I'm assuming your username refers to your date of birth. Mine refers to my age, so be respectful to your elders.
I'd never go against Ninesy, he's a brilliant fella. I think he might have been in bad form last night, that's all. Its not like him to react that way to a poster. The standard of Moderation on here has always been head and shoulders above any of the other Boards I've visited. Incredibly so in a couple of examples. The likes of Andy King on the Leicester Board springs to mind. Personally I can't see anything wrong with what Dunbar said, even though I wouldn't agree with it. The reaction to him (not incl Nines) seems a bit OTT (if also quite funny ).
Beth, as I noted earlier, i have no problems personally with you or Tremore (or 999s for that matter despite his rant) My point really was that most oversight committees are these days made up of people who have no personal interest in whatever they're monitoring, that's all. The comment from that old fellah, SB,73, then had to make it personal within minutes then 999s telling me to f off. Just a bit shocked. I'm sure you will do a great job. Sorry for joining in a post :-(
