Halation at 20/1 with Willie Hill. Will have to trust the weather forecasters, as favoured good ground now seems very likely.
Beaten fav lto Swanny LTO favourites:2 wins for horses that were favourite LTO (from 55 runners). I know. It means sfa
My tips mean sfa too, Ron, but glad you are breathing normally again. Will have to watch my wording in future? (Digressing completely, been very busy on cat business. Our little Russian Blue is now 13-years-old and Vet says she now has to go on a special low-protein diet. Sounds easy, but really had to search for the right wet and dry stuff, you know, 8% protein (against a normal 30%), and very low phosphate-content, etc. It's all available, but, bloody hell one has to test the stuff on the cat to. Our Daughter was a big help, as our little lass is so flipping fussy you wouldn't believe it. Anything with gravy, forget it. Think we've sorted it out now, although she is wondering what the hell is going on! Guess horses might be even more difficult when they get older, although I haven't a clue in this respect?).
We have a couple of 33yo new Forest ponies and a couple of 28yo ex competition ponies. They spend the summer in the fields. Stabled during winter. No problems so far feed-wise. No idea how long they have. Not looking forward to that at all.
I bet you're not. It is a terrible wrench when you lose them, even if it's just one. A few years ago found myself in hospital over the whole Christmas season with a detached retina. Cat hardly ate a damn thing, and since she has weighed only 3 kg for the last eleven years, was a good job I got back when I did. Wife had quite a job feeding her even the smallest amount.
Morning all A couple of outsiders to peruse in the Cambridgeshire Dragon fei and master of the world. Good luck
Just had a quick scan of the field and I like the look of Bill Gredley's colt Franklin D down at the bottom of the handicap. Michael Bell obviously always thought plenty of this one as he made his debut in the Chesham Stakes no less. Got off the mark in a Sandown maiden before running 2 decent races in 8F handicps off a mark of 89 (as today), on both occasions looking as though the extra furlong today will suit. Has a high draw which will hopefully be an advantage so I've had a small e/w poke at SP.
If ever there is a trainer that doesn't work out for me it's Mark Johnson. Watched Lumiere win her debut and thought she couldn't be beat this year so backed her, she then gets beat easily by Beshareh, who had been previously beaten by Illuminate. I back Illuminate today and watch Lumiere beat both of them.
Johnston and Fahey both take the scatter-gun approach ................... often impossible to know which of theirs is likeliest
