Caught being a d*ck more than once, there's no denying that but that's not in the same league.

*edit... read all comments before posting what is essentially NLDISREDs remark!

Vardy made an offhand comment to a guy he suspected of 'spying' on his cards in a casino ... he later apologised, accepted that what he had done was unacceptable and even went on a race and diversity awareness course to atone ... he has been paired with a Japanese striker all season who appears to have no problems whatsoever with Vardy on a personal level - indeed they seem to have a rare bond ...

Wilshire has been involved in numerous anti-social incidents, one very recently involving verbally abusive language to his elderly neighbours and another fracas where his sense of taking responsibilty for his actions involved hiding behind bins near a nightclub hoping that he wouldn't get caught ...

What Vardy did was wrong ... but throw in the 'race' card and it gets blown out of proportion ... his comments demonstrate ignorance more than proving that he is inherently racist ..

Arsenal fans may disagree ... but personally I find Wilslhire's social behavioural traits more abhorant . .

You didn't just excuse Vardy's behaviour because he has a Japanese friend did you?!

    ... no I didn't ... just as I wouldn't excuse Wishire's because he has grandparents ...

... what I did point out is that the one guy who might rightly have had a problem with Vardy's comments didn't ... because they were not racially motivated ... just ignorant ...

Hmm, yeah, I didn't excuse Jack's behaviour. He's been caught being unpleasant far too often imo which, considering his position as a key Arsenal player/role model is far from ideal. Anyway, I merely pointed out that I found his "shenanigans" far less distasteful than JV's. Fair play to his response to everything but I get the impression that had it not been "plucky Leicester" and instead a Chelsea/Arsenal/Liverpool player who did that there would have been (rightly/wrongly) far more scrutiny.

Meh, have absolutely no interest in turning this into a race issue. He did wrong/got punished. I also think I'm one of the few Arsenal fans who wouldn't be upset to sign him! I guess what I'm trying to say is that I'd rather not go for a beer with either player...but, if pushed, would choose Jack!

... almost agree with everything you say ... have pointed out on various threads that Vardy is the type of character that only the fans of the team he plays for can really 'love' ... reminds me of a Speedie or Bellamy in that regard ...

Lol I'm confused if he can make an off handed comment or whatever you called it in public what do you think he says at home ? And having a japanese team mate and going on an anti racist course is supposed to change his mentality?

.. whilst I haven't watched the footage personally, I understand it was along the lines of "Oi you... *** ... jog on" ... using a shortened form of the word 'Japanese' ... hardly the most inventive racially motivated insult ... and I suspect, aimed at making it clear which of the audience at the card game he wanted to move from behind him where his cards could be seen .... I would also add that Vardy was drunk as a skunk having been in the casino for some consierable tiime and freely sampled the refreshments kindly provided by the casino ... inebriation is, of course, no excuse ..... but it certainly does effect judgement and not for the better.. Calling someone a jap is probably the same as calling someone a Paki. Tell me how did vardy know the man was Japanese and not from another asian country? Being drunk is not an excuse. I don't know what it's like in Leicester but if he said something like that in inner city london he would have got a beat down fact

... I certainly haven't tried excusing anything ... just provided some context ..

PS if it had been my grandparents then little cnut Wilshire would have got more than an 'inner city' beat down... :)

You might not be trying to 'excuse' Vardy but you are slating Wilshere calling him a Cnut, when vardy's behaviour was at least as bad and had a racial overtone to it. Using this logic presumably you think Vardy is a Cnut too ?

... Vardy wasn't trying to intimidate the fella ... nasty Jack certainly was ...big difference for me ... if Vardy hadn't used the J word there would be nothing to report ..no threat ...

Rubbish. Vardy was telling him to 'jog on jap' and then got up and had to be restrained. If that's not intimidating behaviour then you're living in cloud cuckoo land fella.

I don't condone wilshere's behaviour at all, but you're trying to paint Vardy as an innocent whilst slating Wilshere as a villain, and to be honest you're peddling a crock of ****.

... as I said at the outset I haven't seen the footage ...but I have heard a bit about the background...Vardy suspected the guy was letting other players know what cards Vardy had ...and even though quite pissed Vardy realised and reacted ... it was not a racially motivated reaction but an angry one to being cheated ... a lot different to threatening your elderly neighbours for complaining about the noise ... but have it your way ...

You're trying to justify one instance of vile behaviour, whilst condemning another based on your bias towards the personalities involved.

You'd be better off just agreeing that both incidents were out of order.

Sorry but it really annoys me the whole race card thing just because someone adds race in front of a derogatory word. Maybe i'm just old (30) but for me actual racism is abusing someone because of there race. By letter of the of the law, i think nowadays adding someone race irrespective of why the fracas kicks off is construed as racism but personally i think that's PC too far (or more likely it's probably the only thing you can do someone for racism rather than why a person would abuse another).

Anyway, Vardy is a cnut, Wilshire for me a bigger cnut.
