They've gone their seperate ways at the moment, off to see this guy (don't know if he's **** or if he's Buttons ) later this year.....
My old man supported them, when they toured back in the early sixties. Other bands he sometimes mentions he played with were Gerry & Pacemakers, Freddie & Dreamers, Manfred Mann and a few more I can't remember right now. His band split up about '65 as they didn't like spending all the time away from their girlfriends/wives/jobs etc - who knows what might have happened if they had stuck with it - they only pressed one vinyl, but don't think it got much airplay at the time.
Whoopsy, pushing the f count a little. I won't say if you don't... If any problems I will change them asap
Ok, I like this one for two reasons. It brings back happy memories of a camping trip with my sister and some mates before she moved to Melbourne. The other reason it's so bad that it's good, makes me smile so no problems owning up!
They were called "Dave and the Druids" and were (apparently) quite the thing in their local area (West Country) and played a lot of gigs in Bristol, Bath, Swindon etc with all these bands. I've tried googling them, but nothing comes up unfortunately, so I can only go off the stories my parents told me, but am lead to believe that they had a screaming horde of local fans!! They were offered a full record deal, but decided against it, and the band folded soon after.
Very happy for them and a victory for football. Shows that the dream of winning the Prem has not totally been sold off to three or four teams with the backing to buy the league!
