Fraser Campbell would be a good addition, quite similar to JK in style so they may not complement each other, but certainly a good option for us.
So RR (for the record) are you saying that in terms of personnel, the club has done well and we're well equipped for the season ahead? So any criticism is likely to be attributed to the manager or players, rather than the board?
Mark Ashton will be responsible for making sure Mr Lansdown gets value for his money. Remains to be seen if for millions another lot of Hunts have been brought in. Dealings recently have gone well but City have been very good at getting big squads of next to no quality and spunking away millions of Lansdowns money.
I understand what you're saying, but at the same time I'd suggest that every transfer is a risk. For all intents and purposes and at face value, pretty much all of our signings have pedigree, or are widely regarded as having great potential and I'm sure that Mark Ashton and the scouting network have done their homework far more extensively than any of us. It could well be that one or more signings don't really pan out, but there are so many factors at play that it doesn't necessarily fall at the feet of whoever identified them as a target. Angel Di Maria was one of the best players in the World before going to Man Utd and returned to being one after he left, but it just didn't work out for him whilst he was there. I don't think there would have been many people who would have predicted that beforehand when it seemed like they had acquired a great player.
I did cos I watched him a lot (on line) when he was at Benfica and he was little better than a very expensive headless chicken (albeit quick) - his decision making was ABSMYAL. Going to Madrid improved his game somewhat but it is easy to look good when surrounded by top flight players and he was exposed for the considerably less than world class player that he really is (worth about £10m max) when he came to United. When Utd signed him for £60m plus, I couldn't believe it. Real must have been laughing all the way to the bank with their £40m profit....
Christ it sounds like you want even more in again. It is a big squad and it costs. It does fall at their feet, That's their job. At City its more important to get more bang for bucks because the club has less money to make mistakes with. Its a case of no you get it right.
Strong rumours palace 12 million bid for kojack. Grabban and Campbell coming here. What do you guys reckon.
2 years left on his contract, a £20m plus striker along side him, Lee Tomlin and Co behind him, 1 game into the season, why would we sell our star asset..?
